reader works at a flower shop.
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──y/n stood behind the counter of the flower shop, arranging a colorful bouquet of daisies and lilies. the soft scent of roses and lavender filled the air, creating a peaceful atmosphere that enveloped the small shop. as he arranged each flower, his attention was drawn to the sound of the doorbell chiming, signaling the arrival of a customer.
the shop didn't get many customers, so it was always nice to see a new face walk in through the doors.
looking up, y/n's eyes met those of an enthusiastic young man who had just entered the shop. the man's golden eyes widened in wonder as he took in the array of flowers that surrounded him, a bright smile lighting up his face.
"wow, this place is amazing!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement. "i've never seen so many flowers in one place before!"
y/n didn't like loud noises, but he for some reason didn't mind the man's booming voice. he smiled and waved, catching his attention. "thank you. welcome to our shop." he said as he dusted his hands together. "is there anything specific you're looking for today?"
the guy scratched the back of his head sheepishly, a blush spreading across his cheeks. "well, i'm actually looking to buy some flowers for my teacher. teacher appreciation week, i appreciate her and everything, so i wanted to get her something special."
y/n nodded. "how sweet. do you know what kind of flowers she likes?"
he shook his head. "not really, i don't know the first thing when it comes to flowers, just roses: kind of clueless when it comes to flowers. but i don't want any gloomy flowers, i want bright ones!"
"yeah, we got bright flowers. follow me."
leading the unknown boy through the shop, y/n stopped in front of a vibrant display of sunflowers and daisies, their cheerful colors standing out against the green foliage. "how about these?" he suggested, gesturing to the bouquet. "sunflowers... symbolize happiness and positivity, and pink roses represent lots of things, but it's more commonly used for admiration and gratitude. hm?"
his eyes lit up with excitement as he admired them. "they're perfect! i'll take them."
a smile graced his lips. "great. let me wrap them up for you."
as y/n carefully wrapped the bouquet in colorful paper and tied it with a ribbon, the grey-haired male with black streaks in his hair watched the others every move. he moved so gracefully, tending to the flowers with such care.
once the bouquet was wrapped and ready to go, y/n handed it him. "here you go. would you like to add a card? free of charge."
he took the bouquet carefully in his hands. "okay!"
y/n got out a small pink card and a pen. "what would you like it to say?"
"uh... oh, okay. 'thank you for being awesome'... exclamation point, exclamation point. from bokuto."
y/n finished writing and nodded, sticking the card carefully in the flowers. "you're all set. i'm sure she'll love them."
bokuto beamed, his eyes sparkling excitement as he held the bouquet close. "thanks so much! i really appreciate it."
y/n's heart swelled with happiness at bokuto's genuine enthusiasm. "you're welcome. i'm glad i could help. have a great day."
with a final wave, bokuto turned to leave the shop, the bouquet cradled carefully in his arms. y/n watched him go, feeling a sense of satisfaction wash over him.
