We make these memories for ourselves

"Bone has fused nicely where the screws were and there's minimal scar tissue." The doctor spoke as he looked over Buck's newest x-ray.

"I feel good, Doc. I mean I was standing on top of a moving fire truck the other day. Not even a twinge." Eleanor and the doctor shared a look before looking at Buck.

"I'm gonna pretend that I did not hear that part. I'm not interested in operating on your other leg."

"So what about the clots?" Eleanor chimed into the conversation.

"Scans are clear. No sign of clots since we took you off of the blood thinners. I think those screws were the source of your problem."

"So that's it? They're gone and I don't need to see you anymore?"

"As long as you don't get crushed by another fire truck." The doctor slightly smiled.

"Whoa, come on. Too soon, Doc." Buck mocked being hurt, throwing a hand over his heart.

"Sorry. Mr. Buckley, it is my pleasure to give you a clean bill of health. So get dressed and get out of here."

"Thank you. For everything. And no offense but I hope I never see you again."

"I on the other hand will see you around doctor," Eleanor smiled before he left the room. Buck hopped off the table and began getting dressed. "So.. clean bill of health, what do you wanna do to celebrate?" Buck turned and smirked at her.

"Let's get you to your appointment first and then we'll decide." Buck pressed a kiss on her cheek before grabbing her hand and leading her along. Eleanor squeezed Buck's hand as they got in the elevator. "Scared?"

"Yes, I've seen way too many horror movies." Buck laughed lightly.

"We really need to monitor your TV use." Eleanor shook her head at him. "Are you nervous?"

"A little. Are you?"

"More excited but yeah, a little."

They finally exited the elevator and made their way down the hallway to the check-in desk. "Hi, I have an appointment. Eleanor Blair."

"All set, a nurse will call you shortly." The woman behind the desk gave them a smile. They barely sat down before being called back into a room.

"Hello, I'm Emma. I'm gonna be your nurse today. You must be Eleanor," she offered Eleanor a smile. "And you must be dad." She smiled at him as well.

"Evan," Buck stuck his hand out for her to shake which she did before grabbing her gloves.

"I just need to ask a few questions. You plan on keeping the baby, correct?" They both nodded. "Do you know how far along?" Eleanor shook her head. "That's okay, we can tell today. And do you have any concerns?" They both shook their heads. "Okay then, who's excited to see this baby?"

Eleanor leaned back and lifted her shirt, exposing her barely noticeable bump. Emma grabbed a bottle and squeezed some gel on Eleanor's stomach. Buck stared intently at the screen as he waited to see the image. Emma grabbed the transducer and ran it over Eleanor's stomach. Slowly a grainy image appeared on the screen.

"There's your baby. You're about ten weeks along so your baby is the size of a prune right now. You can't really see too many distinguishing features right now."

Eleanor looked up at Buck who was in awe. His eyes were glued to the screen. A tiny bead had formed in the corner of his eye. Eleanor reached for his hand, giving it a squeeze. He finally looked down at her and smiled.

"Is there a way to get like a wallet size of that?" The nurse laughed lightly.

"Unfortunately they only print in one size, I'm sorry. Here are your pictures." Emma handed the roll of pictures to Eleanor. Emma wiped the remaining gel off of Eleanor's stomach. "You're all set. Just stop at the desk on your way out to schedule your next appointment."

"Thank you," Eleanor and Buck said in unison."

Buck leaned down, staring at the pictures again. "That's my baby." He smiled so proudly.

"I love you.." Buck whispered against Eleanor's stomach before placing a gentle kiss on it as well. "Is it weird to love something so much already?"

"I think it'd be more weird if you didn't."

"Does it really have to take so long though?"

"Well, unless you want it to be missing a leg or an eye."

"I'd still love him or her."

"I know you would," Eleanor smiled at him. "Which do you want it to be?"

"Either, it doesn't matter to me. And if it's a girl we'll just do it again and hope for a boy."

"Again? How many do you want?"

Buck smiled shyly. "Four." Eleanor laughed. "Okay, I'll settle for two." Eleanor leaned toward him and pressed her lips to his.

"You're adorable. What about names?"

Buck repositioned himself so that he was lying next to Eleanor, she leaned her head on his shoulder. "Boy would be Finn, Noah, or Daniel. You?"

"Asher, Oliver, or Hudson. Girl?"

"I see you like unique names. Girl would be Charlie, Andie, or Alex. You?"

"You just names three more boy names."

"But they're neutral." Eleanor shook her head with a smile.

"Okay, fair enough. I'd say Maeve, Prue, or Rory."

"We are on two completely different sides of the spectrum here," Buck laughed.

"We've got seven months to agree on something. I'm sure we'll be fine."

"What if it's twins? Does that mean we can do it again?" Eleanor shook her head with a laugh.

"How about Asher Finn or Oliver Daniel?"

"Those are cute." Buck thought for a moment about the girl's names. "We need to work on the girls." Eleanor nodded in agreement.

"I've got nothing right now."

"We'll figure it out," Buck smiled.
