Yet that all changes when Dawnclan joins an unexpected alliance.

If you read Frost's character page, he became reluctant to open up to his apprentices after Brambletuft's exile, resulting in him hurting Sagepaw mentally, his distant act makes Sagepaw believe that his Master hates him, so he tries various ways to make Frostshard proud, never noticing the true reason behind his Master's acts.
Sagepelt, remembering the loneliness he felt during his apprenticeship, vows never to treat his apprentices the way Frostshard had treated him. (Well, he becomes a father figure to Hazeldusk)
