[Lecture Hall, Hosu City, Tokyo]

"And that leads us into the main bulk of this lecture, the fundamental forces of nature..." The old professor continued, his voice resonating around the large chamber. A nice brassy timbre that was easy to nod along to. He stabbed the blackboard behind him with a piece of old chalk, worn down from constant use, but it was his preferred method of teaching. He had an unremarkable look, but along his neck there were gills, like a fish would have. It wasn't seen as strange, nobody raised an objection about the issue. White schematics decorated the large canvas, theorems and diagrams, numbers and letters all cramped in tight. It all meant little to anyone without a proclivity towards science.

The air was thick with silence, besides the occasional sound of scribbling from the attentive students, listening to each and every word from their desks. There had to be hundreds of them in total, all putting pen to paper, busying themselves away with their work. A few amongst them also carried with them unusual, inhuman traits. A neck the length of a giraffe, another was covered from head to toe with a dense layer of fur, one seemed to have a radiator sticking out of their shoulder. They remained busy nonetheless, undeterred by the inhuman qualities.

"These forces are the essential interactions that dictate the behaviour of matter and energy..." Adjacent to the blackboard was a more modern display, and it quickly shifted screens. A complex schematic representation that made a few students rise up from their textbooks. "First, we have gravity." The professor poked at the monitor. He had a weary look behind his glasses. "Despite being the weakest of the four, gravity's reach is infinite. It orchestrates the grand ballet of galaxies, the formation of stars, and the orbit of planets."

"Einstein's general theory of relativity describes how mass and energy warp the fabric of space-time, creating the force we perceive as gravity..."

"How's the informant doing, Sansa? Has he calmed down yet?" Detective Naomasa asked. There was nothing too special about him, a relatively plain man. He had short black hair and tired square eyes. A tan overcoat sat upon his shoulders, his synonymous professional wear. There were few places he went without it.

"He's still shaken up

"He's still shaken up." Sansa walked towards him, folding his arms. He was a tall, lean man, but that wasn't what most caught notice of first. It was his head, which was no normal human head, but the head of an enormous ginger tabby cat. He had orange fur, and two large piercing yellow eyes. No fuss was made about it. "He just keeps repeating the same thing, over and over again. That somebody's coming for him, that it's too late for him now, but nothing more."
