"You certainly put Endeavor to shame, and you are only seventeen years young! To think of how powerful you will be when you are grown and have fully mastered Fundamental Force!" The Doctor marvelled, pushing himself up and out of his seat. Kyudai Garaki was his real name, but he went by many different aliases. It was important to maintain a strict facade between his public-facing persona, and the real man behind closed doors. He was a genius, by all accounts, and probably knew the most about Quirks, more than any other person that side of the planet, perhaps the entire world. His entire life had been dedicated to the study of meta-abilities, and humanity's future evolution.

However, he had long fallen from grace, humiliated and ostracised by the scientific community for his more radical thoughts and opinions. That did little to stop his research, and for the better part of a century Kyudai had been working to uncover the true power of Quirks, and how far these meta-abilities could push human development. It helped that his own Quirk, Life Force, granted him an extended lifespan far greater than most ordinary people could ever even aspire towards. His work was given backing by other influential donors, one man in particular who believed in the validity of his claims, and for that Kyudai was eternally grateful

The Doctor's enthusiasm was certainly mismatched with the boy's evident agony. "How are you holding up? You were forced to use quite a lot of your power, we've talked about this many, many times before--" [Y/N] held up a hand and that seemed to calm the older man's questioning. "I-I'm going to need a full night to repair my body. T-The cancerous cells have already begun spreading to my organs. I-I need to act soon. L-Let me have some quiet, Doctor." He groaned, stumbling forwards. Each step a gargantuan effort...

"My apologies, just a tad excited is all." The Doctor said. He stood before the boy and they remained there for a few moments longer. "And, of course, I needn't ask. I trust in your abilities, [Y/N]..." He tried to get a better look at his injuries, but they weren't hard to find. Both arms were worn and weathered, while one appeared completely corrupted, the flesh burnt and wounded, squirming and writhing. Evidently that had been the one to knock Endeavor down. Dark growths stabbed through his skin, painful and pulsating. The Doctor could not even begin to understand how he dealt with it all, and with a neutral expression nonetheless.

It was one of the reasons he had taken such an interest in [Y/N], even from a young age. Kyudai knew the boy had power far beyond his peers, beyond most adults in fact...

There was something different about him. He was exceptional.

The older man's glasses caught the ceiling's low-light and it made his eyes impossible to read.

"The traitor is dead?"

He got a stern nod back in response. "Good lad. You continue to prove your capabilities, even with such an untimely situation. I was right to pick you. I know resolve when I see it. Not even Endeavor could beat you in a one-on-one!" It seemed he had immediately forgotten about the request for some small peace and quiet.

[Y/N] didn't mind, he had gotten used to the Doctor's eccentricity over the years.

"I appreciate you helping me this once. I understand this has jeopardised your anonymity, but if that man had escaped and exposed the existence of my children, years of work would have been wasted for nothing!" They both stood in the centre of a long row of columns, enormous test-tubes on either side of them. A messy clump of thick wires was being funnelled in-between each glass cage, along the floor, and hugging the ceiling, like a convulsing mechanical spine of sorts. It was a chore to even walk about, avoiding each stray cord.
