[9:00 AM, U.A. High School, Musutafu]
Class 1-A quickly grew excited, each student ready and waiting to show off their Quirks, and prove their abilities to their peers. It was the first real opportunity to test not only themselves, but their competition ever since the entrance exams. It was also a chance for them to get to know one another much closer too, since the usage of their powers in normal, everyday life was strictly prohibited. Quirks were a personal aspect of most people's lives...
However, to one student in particular, the social aspect mattered very little, at least the getting to know one another part. [Y/N] didn't really care about that. Rather, he had his own motivations to do well. Each test provided him with two very important things. Information and prestige.
It was the perfect opportunity to watch his fellow students and learn what Quirks they had, and for him to learn how experienced they were at using their individual abilities. These were his future enemies. It was best to undermine them now while he had the opportunity...
Tenya Ida's Quirk, for example, was Engine, which allowed him to ace the fifty-metre dash in just over three seconds. The engines seemingly built straight into his calves did start to stir some memories about another Pro-Hero. It soon became very clear why [Y/N] had felt that sense of deja vu upon entering the homeroom. He hadn't realised it at the time but he had been facing down Ingenium's younger brother.
First Endeavor's daughter, and now Ingenium's brother? It was certainly a small world that they lived in...
Asui Tsuyu finished around six seconds, her appearance looked somewhat frog-like. Her Quirk very well may have given her some sort of frog physiology, though to what extent wasn't really clear. It needed further observation. Ochaco Uraraka scored in just over seven seconds. Her Quirk certainly piqued [Y/N]'s interests, as she seemed to have lowered the gravitational pull on her clothing, making it easier to run.
Another gravity manipulator, huh? It was a powerful force to hold, but it seemed that her control was limited, especially since she could only reverse the gravitational pull and nothing else.
Not long afterwards she collapsed with uncontrollable vomiting, having overextended herself. Her powers were certainly unrefined to say the least...
Aoyama Yuga fired a laser from out his stomach, scoring just under six seconds. It was an embarrassing display, one that he started by falling to the floor half-way along the track, before getting back up and propelling himself the rest of the race. How he managed to score better than Uraraka, [Y/N] wasn't entirely sure. All For One certainly couldn't have picked a less competent informant.
Bakugo Katsuki launched himself forwards with his explosives, finishing above four seconds. He seemed to show some evident violent tendencies, blasting Izuku Midoriya, whose performance was incredibly unremarkable by comparison. He simply ran along the track as any normal person would.
Midoriya ended with an unflattering seven seconds. He certainly wasn't impressing anyone...
Eventually it was [Y/N]'s turn to compete, and he was presented with an opportunity to really show off his strength. It helped that he came just after Midoriya's display, but he wouldn't need the comparison to show his power. The school already had a record of his speed from the entrance exam, but now his fellow students would understand his strength just as the faculty did.
He just had to put on a little show and before long they would become enamoured with his power. It was just like All For One said, people loved strength, they sought after it with a hunger.
[Y/N] prepared for the fifty-metre dash in a similar way to the three-kilometre footrace, and it seemed to draw the attention of the class who still didn't know very much about the quiet student with the stern expression. He reduced the gravitational pull on his body, while readying a gravity well on the other end of the track to yank himself forwards within an instant. The air before him distorted as he formed a series of sequential gravitational fields to slingshot himself, and below his feet he created another gravitational wave, allowing him to effectively surf over the ground...
