Soo Hyun's head snapped up from his phone and looked to see Seo Joon smiling at the photo before sitting down in front of him, coffee in hand. "How did you know this was her dog?"
"I was with her when she adopted him." He said with an almost smug smirk, or maybe it only looked smug because he couldn't help but feel a tad bit jealous. But just a tad!
"Right, you two worked together." Soo Hyun tried to make it sound nonchalant, as if he had not been watching Fight My Way last night, finding himself smiling and laughing at the cute antics of Ae Ra. It was almost a pity that Hae In didn't have any overtly cute scenes. "You two were quite an iconic couple too."
"Ahh are you talking about our many kiss scenes?" He teased before waving his hand. "She's so professional that I think I got more butterflies than she did. She has a way of making you fall in love with her so naturally that you don't realize it until later that, oh I really like being around her."
"It sounds like you had a crush on her." He chuckled as he sipped his own coffee.
"You're right I did. I had a crush on her while we were filming and even after. I mean how could I not have a crush on her when she's so naturally cute. She's fun to be around, she says she's an introvert and I've seen her zone out but the energy she brings on set is so—you'll see. Like there's no way to describe it. You'll want to come to work to see her and you'll hate that it passed by so soon. She works hard and when you see her acting, you just want to get better. I think she made me a better actor. And she's just the sweetest person. Like I got sick on set once and she brought me soup the next day along with medication and told me to take it easy."
While he liked hearing good stories about his co-lead, he couldn't help but feel jealous. Unlike his friend who got a role full of sweet romantic scenes, cute comedic scenes, crossing that line between friend to lover—he had to be a husband that fell out of love only to realize he just forgot about it. They had lovely scenes, he had read the future episodes but it wasn't called Queen of tears for nothing.
"So, did you tell her about your crush? It sounds like you were just a few steps before asking her out."
"No.." Seo Joon sighed and played with his straw with a frown. "Cause Choi Woo Shik, that asshole, also had a crush on her. And we thought for the sake of our friendship , we wouldn't pursue the same girl. Too much drama and I don't think either of us would be happy if we got to date Ji Won while the other couldn't. Like we wouldn't be able to be happy for each other..so We both missed our chance. I think I'll always regret not telling her that I had feelings for her. Wondering if she did and if—well it's too late. I'll never have another chance to tell her I liked her not just because of our characters but that I liked her, as Kim Ji Won."
Soo Hyun nodded and sipped his coffee. He could understand that. They had only met a couple of times, but each time felt like an important memory. Something he wanted to remember because he knew looking back, it would mean everything. He had never felt this way before, never wanted to remember someone so intensely.
"She likes snacking so if you sneak her a few, I promise you'll get to see her laugh and smile." Seo Joon said with a knowing smile before nodding to his phone. "Also that dog, wasn't he a bit mean? He hates men. That's why she doesn't' bring him to set. Only likes girls. Like he's protecting Ji Won from anyone that might hurt her. I even went with her to adopt him but he still growls at me"
Soo Hyun tilted his head as he remembered the dog that he had met a couple of days ago. The dog had quickly ran to Ji Won and once in her arms, she introduced him and waved the dog's paw. The dog stared at him before licking his fingers and wagging his tail. He likes you. She said with a smile and he felt like he had accomplished something big. Even during their walk, the dog kept coming back and forth to him and Ji Won, almost excited that he had two humans following him.
"Not to me" He said with a smirk before clicking his cup against Seo Joon's. "Guess I'm a bit different"
"Stop that. That smug look doesn't suit you."
"I have no idea what you're talking about"
