Eun-hae

The following week arrived with a mix of familiarity and newfound connections for Eun-hae. She and Heeseung had grown friendly, exchanging waves and smiles in the hallways between classes. Yungmi, ever observant, couldn't help but notice the subtle interaction between them, prompting her to tease Eun-hae about her potential crush.

"Eun-hae, you're practically glowing whenever you see Heeseung," Yungmi remarked one day during lunch, a mischievous grin on her face.

Eun-hae blushed furiously, shaking her head. "No, no, it's not like that. We're just.....friends. I think. We haven't really spoken much."

Yungmi raised an eyebrow. "Sure, sure. Whatever you say."

Despite her protests, Eun-hae couldn't deny the warmth she felt whenever she saw Heeseung. There was something about him that put her at ease, a sense of comfort she hadn't felt in a long time.

However, her newfound friendship with Heeseung was momentarily overshadowed when she was called into the principal's office one afternoon. The principal, a stern but fair woman, had noticed that Eun-hae hadn't joined any clubs or extracurricular activities since starting at the school.

"Eun-hae, I believe it's important for students to be involved in school activities," the principal explained kindly. "It helps build a sense of community and teaches valuable leadership skills."

Eun-hae nodded, feeling a sense of guilt wash over her. She had been so focused on adjusting to her new life and taking care of her family that she hadn't even considered joining any clubs.

"That's why I've decided to assign you the task of organizing our spring fling dance," the principal continued. "It's a big responsibility, but I believe you're up for the challenge."

Eun-hae's heart sank. Organizing a school dance was the last thing she wanted to do, especially with her already packed schedule. But she knew she had no choice but to accept.

"Of course, Principal Kim. I'll do my best," she replied, forcing a smile.

As the week progressed, Eun-hae found herself spending more and more time at school, working on plans for the spring fling dance. She stayed late into the evenings, pouring over decorations, music playlists, and logistical details. It was exhausting, and she often questioned why she had agreed to take on such a task.

But as the days passed, Eun-hae began to find a sense of purpose in her work. She may not have chosen this responsibility, but she was determined to see it through. And who knows, maybe organizing the spring fling would lead to new opportunities and friendships she hadn't expected.

As she locked up the school for the evening, the clock striking 6, Eun-hae couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. Despite the challenges ahead, she was ready to take on whatever came her way. And maybe, just maybe, this would be the start of something great.

Heeseung

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the school grounds, Heeseung found himself on the basketball court once again. The rhythmic thud of the ball against the pavement echoed through the empty gymnasium as he dribbled, his frustrations melting away with each movement.

Today's practice had been longer than usual, a grueling session that left him physically exhausted but mentally clear. Basketball had always been his sanctuary, a place where he could escape the chaos of his family life and focus solely on the game.

After a final round of shooting drills, Heeseung made his way to the locker room, the sound of his teammates' banter echoing behind him. He showered quickly, still lost in thought as he absentmindedly chatted with his friends about their plans for the weekend.

"Eun-hae, huh?" Sunghoon teased, raising an eyebrow. "You seem to be thinking about her a lot."

Heeseung shrugged, a faint blush creeping up his cheeks. "She's just a friend, guys. Nothing more. "

His friends exchanged knowing glances, but Heeseung brushed off their teasing, eager to change the subject. As he finished drying off and getting dressed, he remembered he needed to grab his biology book from his locker before heading home.

His locker was conveniently located near the music room, and as he approached, he heard the faint strains of a familiar melody drifting through the air. Intrigued, he paused outside the door, listening intently.

The voice that filled the room was captivating, the notes soaring effortlessly as the piano accompanied it with delicate precision. Heeseung found himself drawn closer, his curiosity piqued.

Carefully, he pushed open the door and stepped inside, the music enveloping him like a warm embrace. And there, seated at the piano, was Eun-hae.

He watched in awe as she sang, her voice filling the room with its beauty. He had no idea she possessed such talent, and he found himself mesmerized by her performance.

Lost in the music, Heeseung failed to notice the drum set in his path until it was too late. With a loud crash, he stumbled forward, his foot catching on a stray drum pedal and sending him sprawling to the ground.

The sudden noise startled Eun-hae, and she stopped playing, her eyes widening in surprise as she turned to face him. "Heeseung? Are you alright? What are you doing here?"

Heeseung scrambled to his feet, feeling a flush of embarrassment heat his cheeks. "I, uh, I was just... getting my book. Sorry for interrupting."

Eun-hae studied him for a moment, her expression unreadable. Then, with a small smile, she nodded. "It's okay. I'm just practicing. I just come here sometimes to clear my head."

Heeseung nodded eagerly, feeling relieved that she wasn't upset. "Yeah, you're really talented, Eun-hae. I had no idea you could sing like that."

Eun-hae's smile widened a hint of pride in her eyes. "Thank you, Heeseung... I've never really played in front of an audience."

"No way, really. You're crazy amazing, you should definitely try it out."

As they exchanged a few more words, Heeseung couldn't shake the feeling of wonder that lingered in the air. There was something special about this moment, something that made him feel alive in a way he hadn't in a long time.

And as he left the music room, his biology book forgotten, he couldn't help but wonder what other surprises Eun-hae had in store.
