Wicked Game~ HP WTM

Chapter 5

Adeline had drawn her legs up onto the couch as she watched herself on screen.

As she and Theo had talked one of her hands had moved to cover her mouth.

She couldn't believe what she had just watched. If she was being candid with herself she never thought the first semi-reunion between friends would happen with Theo of all people. And yet...

The screen slowly faded back in with a new scene.

It was the next day, and Neville was up to his knees in the water of the Black Lake looking at a plant while Harry sat on shore against a tree trunk.

As Neville gushed about the plant he was holding Harry glanced between him and the path that led them to this spot.

Suddenly, he hears light footsteps quickly heading their way.

Turning around, he sees Adeline jogging down the hill. This time she was wearing an almost sheer black cover-up dress, no shoes, and it was obvious that she had a swimsuit underneath her cover-up.

Coming up on Harry's right side, Adeline huffed a breath and said, "Sorry I took so long. Had to make sure the twins didn't see me putting away the map." Harry smiles at the girl in front of him. "It's alright. Neville and his plants have been entertaining enough."

Speaking of Neville, Adeline smiled as she watched the other teenager happily admire the plant he was holding. Wanting to make sure he knew she was there she waved and said, "Hey, Neville!" The other boy looked up from his hands with a bit of surprise. "Oh, hello, Adeline!"

Calming down after the previous scene, Adeline lays her head on Harry's shoulder once more. Talking about Neville she says, "He's a sweet kid."

It made her happy when she felt Harry's head nod in agreement.

Not wanting to waste time, Adeline didn't bother warning the boys as she pulled her cover-up over her head. However, just before she started she very quietly whispered to herself.

No one heard what Adeline said, but the girl knew exactly what she had done.

She easily recognized when she was muttering a concealment charm.

Instantly looking away from his friend, now that she was revealed to be wearing a black two-piece swimsuit, Harry grumbled, "You couldn't have warned us?" Adeline snorted while starting to walk towards the water. "You'll be fine, ami (friend)."

Wading into the water Adeline patted Neville's shoulder to console him like Harry.

Just before she starts to sink into the water Adeline hears Harry ask, "Wait, isn't that water, like, freezing?"

They both saw Neville nodding his head. With a light smile, Adeline answers, "Yeah, it's cold, but I put a warming charm on myself before I even left my dorm."

After Harry's acknowledging nod Adeline finally let herself drop so that she was underwater up to her shoulders. Soon after, she was floating on her back with her eyes closed.

As Adeline floats in the water the sound of everything is muffled.

At one point she hears the sound of garbled voices talking. She doesn't have it in herself though to sit up and pay attention.

She was too relaxed.

However, when it sounded like someone had just yelled, Adeline heaved a sigh. Opening her eyes she sees the overcast sky. Letting her limbs become heavy, she sits up and treads water while observing her surroundings.
