Ughhh... Why do I feel like I just got ran over by a truck?

I slowly opened my eyes noticing the hospital-like ceiling. Deja vu. I gasp suddenly remembering the last time I woke up to a ceiling like this it was in Stray Kids lair. I sat up abruptly, a sharp pain shooting from my abdomen. Freezing immediately, tears sprang into my eyes. In an attempt to stop the pain I swiveled my head around and located the call nurse button.

"Hi, how can I help you?" A voice called from the speaker. I rolled my eyes. Are you serious right now?

"Yeah, hi, can I get someone down here?"

"Oh certainly." They respond. I grab the bedside remote and lift the head of the bed to meet my back sitting in the upright position, the pain already subduing. The silence of the room was only met with the beeving of the heart rate monitor and the nearly silent drip of a blood bag that sat near my bed. Two polite knocks were heard from the door before a pair of eyes peeked through a crack in the door.

"Ms. Ashbourne? I'm Claire, your nurse." The nurse entered the room. "I see you've finally woken up. How are you feeling?" She briefly introduced herself before coming over to check my vitals displayed on the machine.

"Well I sat up pretty fast without realizing how bad it would hurt. So "in pain" is definitely my number one response right now."

"Oh honey, let me check on that for you." Clair came around examining my bandage for a potential rip in the stitches. Following that, at my request, she added a bit more pain killers to the IV drip. The awkward silence once she finished was deafening.

"What happened to to guy who brought me here? Is he okay?" I ask out of curiosity.

"Yes he and all of his friends have been in the lobby waiting for you to wake up since he dropped you off." I nodded as she explained.

"And how long would you say that's been?"

"About 6 hours."

"Can I see them?" Suddenly the isolation of the room became evident to me.

"No can do sweet pea. It's outside of visiting hours so there's only one family member allowed per room." I nodded at the information. "Would you like for me to send your brother in?"

"My brother?!!" I asked shocked. How did he know about this?

"Yes, he arrived here a little after your friends did. We received a call from him while checking you in for surgery and decided it'd be best to inform him of your condition. He's been checking in on you off and on since you got this room, making sure everything was tidy and in order. Do you want me to send him back?"

Do I want to hear his mouth about all of this? No. But do I want to be alone? Absolutely not.

I weighed my options.

"Yeah you can send him in." I concluded.

"Alright I'll send him on down." She left the room with a kind smile to fetch Yeonjun. Rather than a knock, the next sound I heard following that was the sound of the door opening and closing. Yeonjun crossed the room just as quickly as he entered it.

"Isis are you okay?"  He gently placed his hands on my cheeks. I smiled lightly at him.

"Never been better." I joked. I caught a brief glance of his moist eyes before he averted his gaze sitting in a bedside chair. He releases a sigh before a silence dominates the air; we're both at a loss for words.

"I'm sorry." I start off, my voice wavering. Because Yeonjun and I fight a lot, I never thought that he cared too much for me until he move in with my dad and I recently. I know that all of his overprotectiveness since finding out about my double life is because he loves me and wants me to be safe. I never wanted to disappoint him, or my dad, but seeing him misty eyed at my bedside after all that happened makes me feel really bad for lying to him and disobeying him.
