"I'm so excited! My first day at a new school.. It'll be so exciting!" A young girl with violet-red hair sits on her bed, in a very excited mood. Her smile quickly fades. "Hold up. I haven't decided on a style yet!!"
She gets up and sits at her vanity dresser, then starts to style her hair. First, she tries a side ponytail with a periwinkle ribbon, similar to Natsuumi Manatsu. "No way.."
Next, she tries a half-up, half-down sort of style with one ringlet (similar to Cure Dream, except Dream has two ringlets). "Alright, there! ...Nope."

Lastly, she tries a "tied in a ponytail at the bottom" style, held by a purplish-pink bow. "This has gotta be it," she mutters. "Ugh, no no no!!"
Chise takes the ponytail out and checks the time. It's only... 8:50AM. "Aaah, I'm gonna be late for school!" She grabs two yellow hairbows from her dresser, her school bag from her bed, and a piece of toast that she quickly puts in her mouth. "See ya, Mom!!"
Her mother, Aimi, shakes her head, quietly giggling. "Sometimes she worries me... but I love her!"

On the way to school, Chise ties her hair in twintails using the bows she grabbed off her dresser.
Hahah, so sorry about that... This is what happens when you're indecisive like me! I-It's nice to meet you, though! I'm Kibouteru Chise, and I'm about to start my first day at a brand-new school!...God, I'm nervous...
(Title card: Chise holds a diamond-shaped opal in both hands. It glows bright pink and fills the screen as she lets go. Chibis of Cure Shimmer and Warun appear, and between them appears the episode title. "Sparkly-Cool! The Dazzling Star of Hope, Cure Shimmer!")
With only five minutes to spare, Chise arrives at the school. Azayaka Hoseki Private Academy. "Made it! F-Finally..." It seems like she's about to fall over. She ran so fast..
She walks in, scoping out the area. "I don't know any of these people, do I.."
"Chise!!" A girl with orange-brown hair and a small bun on the top is nearby. This is Kasai Homura, the childhood bestie of Chise. "This your first day here?"
"Oh! Uh, y-yeah.." Chise walks up to her. "Homura, you come here, too?"
"Yep! And check it!" She holds a small paper that she soon unfolds. "This tells us who all's in what classes. Wanna read?"
