A Flickering Miracle! The Radiant Jewel of the Sun, Cure Flare!

H-Hey there! My name's Chise, and just in case you missed episode 1, I found a magic mirror and met a cute little dragon from Gemmeland! Then I became Cure Shimmer and took down an evil spirit from another world! Now we've gotta find the next Pretty Cure!

At Azayaka Hoseki Private Academy...
Two girls are at their lockers, discussing something.
"Last weekend was super crazy, wasn't it?"
"True that. There was some giant bird person and an even bigger ghost, and then this girl with hella bright pink clothes came in and chased them off. Her outfit is soooo bright... Almost made my eyes burn... Still, she seems pretty cool! I wanna meet her someday..."

Elsewhere, Chise opens her locker to grab her books when... Warun pops out of her school bag.
"Aaah! W-Warun..?! What are you doing here?"
"Until we find the next PreCure," Warun winks. "I'll stay by your side~rurun!"
Sigh... "Fine... But don't let anyone see you, got it?"

Before shutting her locker, Chise hears something on the other side of the hallway. "They must've seen the battle the other day..."
"At least we don't know it was you~rurun!"
Chise shakes her head. "After next class is lunch. I'll need to ask you something then, okay?"
She shuts her locker and walks to Class 1-3.
As for Warun, it stays in the schoolbag and yawns. "I think I'm gonna take a nap in here~rurun."

(Opening)

(Title card: Homura holds a diamond-shaped ruby in both hands. It glows bright orange-red and fills the screen as she lets go. Chibis of Cure Flare and Warun appear, and between them appears the episode title. "A Flickering Miracle! The Dazzling Jewel of the Sun, Cure Flare!")

Outside of the school, Chise sits on a bench, getting her bento box from her bag. "Finally, lunch time!"

Then Warun appears.
"Alright." She points her chopsticks at it. "Here's my question: do you know of anybody that could be the next Cure, or reincarnation?"
"Come to think of it.." says Warun. "I peered through your locker's window 'cos I was bored and saw who I think may be the perfect candidate."
"What do you mean?"
Warun grabs some sushi from her bento box, putting it on its head. "She has brownish-red hair and a bun on her head~rurun."
The sushi falls off, but Chise gets it. "So what I've got from this is, the next Cure could be...Homura?"
Warun scrapes the rice off its head. "She looked like Bad End Sunny to me~rurun."
"That's..probably not enough evidence, although..." Before eating another of her sushi, Chise moves her chopsticks back. "...you might be onto something. Do you know what she looks like?"
Warun gets its cellphone and pulls up a photo. "This is Bad End Sunny~rurun. In fact, their outfits are all the same, minus accent colors~rurun."
"Sparkly-cool! They look like punk idols..!" She takes a moment to calm down. "That's it. After school, I'm gonna ask her to join. How to go about it, though..."

Back in Yakedo Abyss, Tenten is on the roof, raging out. "Cure Shimmer!!" He holds a drawing he made of Cure Shimmer and tosses it upward, then shoots a blast of wind at it with his leaf fan. "Nobody messes with Tenten! Nobody!!"

After school, Chise walks home by herself again, with Warun in her bag. "Finally, the school day's over!" A moment of realization hits her. "Oh great... so much homework to do this weekend..."
Warun gets curious. "What's homework~rurun?"
"Some schoolwork you're assigned and have to have done by a given day. Mostly science...which I, if I'm being honest, suck at."
"Wish I could help, but alas, I'm not very good at it either~rurun.." Warun pouts.
A light goes off in Chise's head. "Hey! Homura said there's no Light Music Club meeting today... I'll ask her to help me with homework! She's hella good at science!"
