The somber funeral at Pere LaChaise Cemetery only deepened Bluey and Bingo's despair. As their mother's casket was lowered into the ground, their tears made tracks through the dirt on their faces.

A kindly officer approached with sympathy. "Mes enfants, I am sorry for your loss. As your only family has passed, the state must decide your guardianship."

The pups held each other trembling, fearing what cruel fate may befall two orphans alone in the world. But then the officer spoke gently of another option.

"Your grand-pere, Mort Cattle, has come forth. He is a famous designer in Maraucourt and bids to raise you in his home. Would this bring you comfort, mes amies?"

"Though parents' love is gone from sight,
Family ties can mend our plight.
To grandfather's house we will repair,
Find shelter from grief's sting there.
With kin to soothe our mourning hearts,
A new life, hand in hand, fresh start."

The officer smiled; spirit lifted by their sweet voices. "Then to Maraucourt you shall go. Bonne chance, et joyeux coeurs, mes petits!" And so, their journey to healing began...
