Louis' POV
We slept overnight in the tea shop, and I suddenly wake up in the middle of the night.
2:00 AM
I'm looking at the ceiling while laying down. I suddenly think of my grandmother again, overthinking whether I could see her for the last time or not.
After a few minutes, I get up from the bed mat, feeling thirsty, so I walk into the tea shop kitchen to find some water. Unexpectedly, I see the shopkeeper cleaning his sharp, long knife, splattered with blood.
"What happened here?" I asked, feeling drowsy.
"I just killed some zombies out there. Anyway, why did you suddenly wake up?" the shopkeeper asked me.
"I don't know, but I feel tired and thirsty. Can I get some water?" I said.
"Yes, wait here for a second," the shopkeeper said, getting some water.
While he's getting the water, I suddenly vomit after seeing the trashcan filled with bloody ears, a pointed nose, and lots of fingers. I don't know if they're from humans or zombies. He comes back with some water, and I drink it immediately before returning to sleep.
9:00 AM
"Louis, bro! Wake up!" Charlie said three times, waking me up. When I open my eyes, I saw that I am the only one still sleeping.
"Am I alive?" I asked him jokingly.
"Yup, get some honey tea there, hurry!" Charlie said and runs outside.
When I get up, I suddenly remember the trashcan from last night and try to find it in the tea shop kitchen, but I can't. The shopkeeper unexpectedly appears.
"You can't find it there," the shopkeeper said.
"What? What are you saying?" I asked him, trembling.
"The honey tea. Your friends are outside, drink with us!" the shopkeeper responded and walked out.
I see my friends drinking tea together, sitting on a couch outside. Charlie holds the honey tea while Celestia holds some sweet biscuits, approaching me.
"Good morning, Louis?" Celestia greeted, confused about my name.
"You're right, I'm Louis!" I responded.
"Just sit there. Charlie and I will bring your breakfast," Celestia said, happily.
"Are you now working here or something?" I asked, kidding aside.
"No, we're not. We're just helping the shopkeeper because he said he will give us some candies and chocolates later!" Charlie said, smiling with Celestia.
"Here's your honey tea!" Charlie said, putting the tea on the table in front of me.
"Also, here are your sweet biscuits!" Celestia said, putting them on the table too.
"Have a good day!" Charlie and Celestia both said and suddenly run to the shopkeeper.
"We're done working, give us the sweets now!" Charlie said politely.
"Okay, but only if your sister will let me!" the shopkeeper said.
"Please, Maggie!" Charlie pleaded.
"Okay, you can have some! " Maggie said.
The shopkeeper gives them the sweets, but suddenly zombies start approaching near the tea shop.
"Zombies want some tea!" Allie joked.
"Charlie, Celestia, get in the back!" Maggie shouted, and they ran immediately to the back.
We shoot the approaching zombies, but more unexpectedly come.
"We have to go inside!" the shopkeeper said, and we all immediately get inside and close the door.
The tea shop is surrounded by zombies, and we can't get out.
"What's our plan?" Maggie asked.
"It looks like the zombies won't leave us!" Trevor said.
"We can't go out. We have kids and limited bullets now," I informed them. The door and windows start to break.
"The tunnel!" the shopkeeper said softly.
"What did you just say?" Allie asked.
"The tunnel. My tea shop has a tunnel down there. We can escape through it!" the shopkeeper said.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get in!" Trevor said.
We walk into the tea shop kitchen, following the shopkeeper.
"Help me move the refrigerator!" the shopkeeper said, hearing breaking windows.
"But why?" Trevor asked.
"Just do it!" the shopkeeper shouts. Duke, Trevor, and I help to move the refrigerator immediately, and we see a circular door in the ground leading to the tunnel. The shopkeeper opens it and goes down.
Charlie is crying, afraid of the darkness. Celestia comforts him, and they both go down together.
The windows have been broken, and we hear the door creaking.
"No way, the zombies are eager to eat us!" Allie said.
"Let's hurry!" Duke said.
"I'll wait for you down there, Duke!" Allie said, and she goes down.
"Let's move the refrigerator there so the zombies will be interrupted for a little while," Trevor suggested, and we moved it. It's working.
"I'll go down. See you there, guys!" Trevor said and suddenly goes down.
Unfortunately, the refrigerator is pushed by a bunch of zombies, and we don't have time to get down, so we decided to close the door.
Trevor's POV
I get down to the tunnel, walking slowly. I can't see anything, just darkness, until I see a candlelight and find them.
"Where are they?" Allie asked, worried.
"They're coming. Just wait a second," I said to her.
"Allie, where's my sister?" Charlie softly asked, looking sad.
"Oh, little boy, don't worry. They will get down here. Wait for it!" Allie said softly, with tears in her eyes.
After a few minutes, Allie starts crying.
I go back to where we came in with a candle for light, looking up, seeing a ladder with a closed door.
"I'm sorry," I said sadly.
Charlie starts to cry. Celestia goes beside him with tears in her eyes, and the shopkeeper approaches them.
"No way, they have to be here!" Allie sobs. She suddenly walks towards the door we came in through, and I follow her.
"Allie, I'm sorry, but the door is closed!" I said, holding her right hand.
"No, I have to see it. Get off my hand!" Allie said in tears.
Then, Allie sees that the door is really closed, and she cries again. I try to hug her, but she refuses.
"What happened up there?" Allie asked, in tears, while leaning against the wall.
"Well, you know the door was creaking, and zombies were coming in. So, I suggested we move the refrigerator to interrupt the zombies. I went down, but I don't know what happened next!" I informed her sadly.
"Trevor, tell me they didn't get bitten up there!" Allie said, in tears, forcing me.
"I'm sorry, Allie, but that's the reality of life. We have to accept what just happened," I said softly.
"Reality of life? If this is my reality, then I just want to die without him or my friends!" Allie said in tears.
"Sorry, it's just—" I said, but she interrupted me.
"Just leave me alone!" Allie said softly, still in tears.
I walked back to where Charlie, Celestia, and the shopkeeper were, and suddenly someone struck me hard on the head, causing me to lose consciousness.
