"Where are you going?" Travis asked as Taylor tried to get out of bed. She had just woken up, the sun beaming through their bedroom window. He pulled her close to him, burying his face into the side of her neck. She had already gotten up once to go to the bathroom but had gotten back into bed.
"Start making breakfast for everyone," she informed him. He groaned into her neck and pulled her closer to him, pulling the covers up over the two of them. "Trav, baby." She giggled slightly.
"Everybody can fend for themself this morning," Travis whispered, holding on to her tightly.
"I can't do that, baby," Taylor told him, wanting to get up but not doing anything to get up from the spot she was lying in.
"You can, you just don't want to." He told her with a laugh. He plated kisses on her neck, and down her shoulders.
"Hey! Stop that!" She told him, giggling. After the night they shared, she wasn't sure if she could take another round of sex with him so soon. He hadn't been rough with her, but she was feeling a bit sensitive, and she wasn't ready for it again.
"God, I love you," Travis whispered. She rolled over to face him, pulling his face into hers, leaving a kiss on his lips.
"I love you more," she responded. "I love you so much that I'm going to get up and make you breakfast." He let out a chuckle at her words.
"Fine," he told her, finally releasing her from his grasp. She slipped on a pair of shorts and one of Travis's oversized shirts and headed down the stairs and into the kitchen. Taylor opened the fridge and started to remove everything she needed to make the whole gang's breakfast. It may not have been a "school day" for them, but they all still liked to keep the kids on a pretty routine schedule.
"Where are the girls?" Jason asked, slightly panicked, coming down the stairs. He figured that Wyatt and Ellie would be sitting in the living room, watching TV with Koa and Khi, but he was surprised when they weren't. He went up the stairs to get them but was even more surprised to not see them in any of the rooms.
"Playing," Taylor stated simply. The girls had free reign of the house. They knew not to go out of any doors, and they could do anything they wanted other rise. Their home was safe for them to do just that.
"Playing where?" Jason asked, wanting to know the specifics.
"Down in the basement or at one of the other houses." She answered, not really wanting to.
"You just let them go wherever the fuck they want to go?!" Jason asked.
"JASON, I KNOW YOU'RE NOT CURSING AT MY WIFE," Travis said, coming down the stairs, hearing parts of the conversation that was being had as he made his way down.
"Yes, I am because this is idiotic," Jason tried to defend himself. "You don't just let little kids do whatever the hell they want all the time. That shit is irrespons...." Before Jason could get everything he wanted to say out, Travis pushed his older brother, sending him flying across the room.
"Travis!!" Taylor said, grabbing the back of Travis's shirt that he was wearing. "Babe, stop," She pleaded after Travis got a few punches in on Jason.
"I'm tired of you disrespecting my fucking family and my fucking house," Travis yelled at his brother as Taylor held on to his shirt. He moved himself from near Jason, still disgusted at the sight of the man and his actions. "My wife has been sparing your fucking life since she met you, but I think it's time to get rid of you, fuck you."
"Baby, look at me," Taylor moved, getting in front of Travis. She reached up, playing her hands on either side of his face. "Stop."
"I'm tired of this shit, Pretty. He's said one thing too many," Travis told her. He was pissed, but seeing her face, he couldn't stay as heated as he was for very long.
"I know, but please calm down. For me," he let out a deep sigh. The door from the basement opened, and Kylie walked into the kitchen from the pantry area.
"I love the setup down there; it's like a little mini playground," Kylie said but paused when she looked around the kitchen at the scene that she had clearly missed. "What the fuck is happening in here?" She looked over at Jason, who was massaging his cheek and flexing his jaw.
"Where's Pop? I got a job for him." Travis said, kissing Taylor on her forehead quickly before he disappeared into the pantry and down the basement steps.
"What's going on?" Kylie asked again, this time looking at Taylor.
"He said too much and pissed Trav off," Taylor told her, shrugging her shoulders.
"All I said is that it's idiotic for you guys to let these little girls do whatever the fuck they want around here. It's not safe." Jason tried to defend himself. "How am I the bad guy for worrying about my damn kids?"
"They're in the fucking house, Jason! How is this any different than back home when the girls roam around the house before we wake up?" Kylie asked, starting to pace around the kitchen. "Their house is just bigger and has everything that the girl could possibly want to do inside of it. They've been downstairs for hours playing on the swings and in the ballpits. It's literally fucking Chuck-E-Cheese down there!"
"Our kids don't do whatever they want to do," Taylor tried to state as calmly as possible. "They have limitations and boundaries. They are still very much kids and test those, but they know where they can and can not go because we taught them. I'm sorry, Ky, but if your kids don't know how to control themselves and don't know how to listen when one of us tells them what they can and can't do, then that's something you need to work on as a parent. " Taylor wanted to go back to starting breakfast, but suddenly, she was about to take Travis' advice and let every family fend for themselves this morning. Cereal was about to be on the menu. "Khi is our little mischievous soul. She is going to go as far as she can go until you tell her to stop. But once she hears stop or no, she knows that the game is over when she can't do whatever she was testing the limits of. Koa doesn't test us as much. It's not in her nature, but that other one? She will stand on the edge for as long as you will let her. So yes, my kids are allowed to roam this house as much as they want to. They are allowed to go to Britt and Pat's house or Selena and Chris' house whenever they please. All of our basements are connected, they never leave out of a door leading to outside. So again, if your kids aren't disciplined enough to handle that type of freedom, by all means, keep them in your presence at all times, watch your own kids. Make sure you know every step they take."
Taylor walked over to the intercom system and pushed the button. "Cereal kind of morning. Every man for themself!" Taylor said into the intercom system. She started to put the things she she started get out of the fridge back into their place.
"What's going on, Tay? Is it the baby?" Brittany said over the intercom.
"No, it's one of the houseguests," Taylor said back to her. She glanced over at Jason, rolling her eyes at the man.
"Jason, stop being fucking stupid." Selena chimed in, which caused Taylor to laugh a little.
"Selly, no bad words!" Koa came in moments after Selena's message rang through the homes.
"Bad words were needed for this one, Princess. No more bad words the rest of the day, I promise." Selena replied back to the little one.
"You guys really use that thing a lot, don't you?" Kylie asked.
"We do." Taylor admitted. Her mood was soured, and she no longer felt like talking to anyone.
"Koa, Khi, come to Selly's house." Selena's voice could be heard over the intercom, calling for Taylor and Travis' girls. Selena knew if Taylor was calling off breakfast, she wasn't in the mood to feed the girls, Travis, or herself. Taylor took it as a cue to go lay down on the couch. She wanted to call for Travis, but she also knew he would be up when he had calmed down a bit more. She walked out of the kitchen, leaving Kylie and Jason there to their own devices. Kylie, however, gave Jason one look, rolled her eyes, and headed back into the pantry and down the stairs. She gathered the girls who were still playing and went to Selena's.
