"Jason, let's go!" Travis called to his brother, as he and the other men started to walk out of the door. They were headed into the city to treat their women with a random gift.
"Where are we going?" Jason asked upon exiting the house and seeing the guys get into the car.
"Going get the girls something special," Chris told the man. Over the last for months, Jason hadn't gained much ground when it came to Chris and Patrick. While they were friendly when they had to be in front of their wives, things were still rocky. Travis was still iffy of his brother as well, but being in the same house as he all of the time meant his animosity was buried a bit deeper than Chris's and Patrick's.
"For what?" Jason asked, getting into the car with the rest of them. He was confused. "Is it somebody's birthday?"
"Here he goes, asking stupid questions," Patrick said, throwing his hands up. "We're just doing something nice for the girls. That's it."
"We got a lot of work to do with you," Travis mumbled as he started to pull out of the driveway and onto the dirt road that led to the main road. While Jason had been trying to clean up his act, there were still instances where he exhibited his old trash-like behavior. It was far less than before, but still very much apparent. "This is going to be lesson one on how to treat a woman."
"I know how to treat a woman," Jason defended herself. Travis glanced over at his brother, and gave him an annoyed look. Jason couldn't even name Kylie favorite favorite color up until a couple of weeks ago, and he wanted them to believe he understood how to treat her.
"What's her favorite flower?" Chris mumbled from the backseat.
"I don't fucking know," Jason replied. "That's not important."
"It is important, dude." Patrick said.
"It's daisies," Travis told him.
"How do you know that?" Jason asked, looking over at Travis.
"She said it," Travis told him. "One day, when I brought Taylor and the girls flowers, she mentioned that she liked fucking daisies. So the next day, I went out and got her daisies. You didn't even fucking notice."
"Why did you do that?" Jason asked, confused by his brothers geasture to his sister in law.
"To make her happy, Jason. Why the fuck did you marry her if you didn't want to make her happy? Did you just need somebody to wash your fucking clothes, cook your meals, and have your fucking children?" Travis looked over at the man in the passenger seat, who had fallen silent. "So you did? You married her to be your fucking maid, not to be your partner."
"I love Kylie, okay?" Jason defended.
"Okay, what do you love about her? And it can't be something she does for you or the kids," Chris said. Jason remained silent. He racked his brain for things to say that were outside of the categories that he was meant to avoid. He couldn't think of anything.
"You guys act like you can say something about your wives outside of those things."
"I love the way Taylor's nose scrunches when she's really happy, and her eyes get all squinty. She looks like a cute little rabbit. I love the face she makes when she's confused and trying to figure something out. I love the way bounces when she's excited," Travis said. He could get going, but he decided to stop, knowing that Chris and Patrick probably also had something they wanted to say about her wives.
"I love the way she looks at the kids when they are sleeping. The look of pride and joy on her face is unmatched. I love the way throws her head back when she laughs, even when the joke isn't funny at all. She thinks everything is absolutely hilarious." Patrick said about Brittany. They had been the longest of the group, and they both had learned each other inside out from the time they were teenagers until this very moment. They were still learning things about each other, and it was beautiful.
