The trail was long and lonely for those six nights and seven days. The insects were brutal this time of year constantly buzzing and nipping at Lilith. She was alone with her thoughts, alone with the images of her family and their bloated bodies in the summer heat like a pear tree ripe for the picking. The pear had been picked, and it lay in the raven haired maiden's hand. Her thumb brushed against the smooth red skin being gentle not to bruise it.

She took a large bite, tearing into the flesh as juice ran down her chin. Cleo was grazing nearby swinging her tail to swat the flies circling her. Freedom was all Lilith ever wanted, but it cost a heavy toll. She spent most nights, even those cuddled up to Jon, thinking if she just did what she was supposed to do her family would be alive even though she wouldn't be.

She readied Cleo's saddle at first light, the seventh day. The village was packed on this sunny summer day. People from all of the nine remaining kingdoms roaming the streets and shops. Lilith left Cleo on the outskirts as she strolled through, hiding her face beneath a hood.

The medicine shop had everything she needed and she managed to grab a few extra things. One of the counters had a small wicker bowl with handmade leather bracelets.

"How much?" Lilith asked the petite woman running the shop.

The older woman smiled, "Five.. my sweet child made them." Lilith grabbed one and left the five coin on the counter. She smiled softly, thinking of Jon.

The sun nearly blinded her upon leaving the dimly lit shop. Her eyes shifted to men with a familiar sigil, a sharp pain began to shoot throughout her body radiating from her back. With the satchel slung over her, she rounded a corner quickly, avoiding their wandering gaze. The girl immediately ran into another person, the two colliding and falling back. Lilith hit the ground, her hood falling to reveal the long black locks. She quickly reached for her dagger before making eye contact.

The other person was a woman, a little younger than Lilith with two soldiers behind her to catch her. Her eyes lit up when the realization struck her.

"Lilith Ignis?" She questioned. She was very beautiful. Her black hair was in dreadlocks reaching down to her legs. Her dark skin shimmered in the sunlight like pure silk. She smiled, bottom teeth slightly crooked giving her a charming smile along with a single dimple on her right side. She held her hand out to offer the princess. Lilith thought for a moment, her eyes darted to the sigil on her mens armor. A maiden holding a basket of fruit.

"Serena?" Lilith sheathed her dagger and took the maiden's hand

"Serena?" Lilith sheathed her dagger and took the maiden's hand. She had beautiful gold rings on each finger, two on her middles.

Serena pulled the girl in for a hug, "Finding you was easier than we presumed."

Lilith pulled away confused, "You're looking for me?" A wave of fear rushed over her.

Serena nodded, "My mother, she needs to see you urgently. You'll have to come with me by choice or force... unfortunately."

Lilith shook her head, "I will not be prisoner again... And I need to return. Someone I care for needs this medicine."

Serena sighed, "You won't be prisoner.. my mother is on your side. It's about your father, about Daemon.. War is coming.."

Lilith relaxed a bit, "Like I said... this medicine needs to get to my camp. Then I will come with you."

Serena thought for a moment, pacing, "Let's strike a deal. You go with my men back to the castle. I will deliver the medicine."

Lilith thought for a long while, "I'll go with one of your men.. you should have the other one." Her guards agreed, fearing for the princess's safety.

Serena protested, "There are many men out here looking for you. Please, take my men." The princess nodded, exchanging the bag of medicine with Lady Serena. The two young women said their farewells before Lilith and Cleo headed for God's Bounty, and Serena disappeared towards the camp.

Another seven long days on the road, now with two strangers, before reaching the gates of God's Bounty.
