Lisa's POV

The bus ride home was filled with a buzz of excitement and anticipation. As I settled into my seat, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions—relief, happiness, and a lingering sadness. I pulled out my phone and sent a quick message to Irene:

Lisa: Hey, message me when you get home safely.

I hit send and then put my phone away, leaning back in my seat. My eyes drifted to the window, and I watched as the scenery passed by in a blur. Trees, fields, and distant mountains all melded together as the bus sped along the highway.

I let my mind wander, thinking about everything that had happened and what the future might hold.

Life had changed so much in such a short time. When I first arrived at the training camp, I never imagined I'd find myself falling for someone like Irene.

Our connection had been unexpected  and even though things were uncertain now, I couldn't help but hope we would find our way back to each other.

I thought about our conversations, the late-night meetings in the bathroom, the way her eyes lit up when she smiled. But I also remembered the uncertainty in her voice when she and I had a small conversation. I don't know but her tone was like we are strangers.

Would we really be able to pick up where we left off? Or would life pull us in different directions?

As I stared out the window, I also thought about my career. Graduating from the training camp was a significant milestone, one that would open up new opportunities for me. I was proud of how far I had come and excited about what lay ahead.

The bus was filled with chatter and laughter, the sound of my fellow trainees celebrating. Commander Kang stood at the front, making announcements about the details of our upcoming graduation ceremony.

Cheers erupted throughout the bus, and soon everyone was singing and clapping along to a spontaneous celebration song.

I tried to join in, but my thoughts kept drifting back to Irene. I wondered what she was doing right now, how she was feeling. Had she read my message? Was she thinking about me too?

....

The bus pulled into the familiar streets of my hometown, and I felt a surge of excitement. Home. It felt good to be back, to see the places I knew so well. I couldn't wait to see my parents, to share my experiences with them, to feel their support and love.

We finally arrived at our drop-off point, and I gathered my things, stepping off the bus with a mix of anticipation and nostalgia.

"Lisa, See you on the graduation day!!! woohhhh" Dami shouted looking at me through the bus window.

I just shake my head how silly she was, "Yeah, see you!" I answered then the bus left.

I glanced at my phone, hoping for a message from Irene, but there was nothing yet.

Taking a deep breath, I started the walk home.

Author's POV

Lisa's parents were ecstatic about their daughter's impending graduation. The house was filled with a festive atmosphere, and they showered her with love and congratulations. Lisa cherished these moments, feeling a profound sense of accomplishment.

Later that evening, as Lisa was relaxing, her phone buzzed with a message from Irene. Her heart skipped a beat as she read the text.

Irene: Hey, sorry for the late reply. Just got home. Hope you're doing well.

A smile spread across Lisa's face. She had been worried that Irene might not respond, but now she felt a wave of relief wash over her.

The next day, Lisa and Irene met at the cafe where they had first run into each other. The familiar aroma of freshly brewed coffee greeted Lisa as she entered. She spotted Irene sitting at a corner table, looking both beautiful and a bit anxious. As Lisa approached, Irene stood up to greet her.
