CHAPTER XV: human earthworm ✧･ﾟ: *✧･ﾟ:*✧･ﾟ: *✧･ﾟ:*✧･ﾟ: *✧･ﾟ:*
Sora, Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara are walking around the city trying to decide what to do with their day. Megumi decides to return home with Sora eager to go with him, but was stopped by Nobara who was forcing her to go shopping.
Nobara starts walking up the stairs holding onto Sora's wrist. Geto turns to Yuji, mouthing 'help me' with a slight whisper.
"I'm going to movies. What about you two?" Yuji questions, waving his phone to them.
Nobara stops and lets go of Sora's wrist, "What are you seeing?" She asks.
"Human Earthworm 4" Yuji says with a smile, bringing up his four fingers. Sora's face goes pale knowing she has seen the first 3 movies and was simply bored out of her mind.
"Who'd ever go see that? I haven't even seen 1, 2 or 3." Nobara replies with Yuji's statement that she'll be fine jumping in on 4.
Just as Yuji brings his phone to show the girls the trailer, Sora began speaking. "Basically a mad scientist turns an innocent man into a hybrid worm. The human-worm lookalike meets a woman,they fall in love and have small worm children. One night villagers come and kill the hybrid worm and their children surround and murder the three men that did their father wrong."
Nobara watches Sora with a disgusted and shocked look while Yuji fawned over the fact that she has seen the movies.
"What? Living with Megumi and Gojo-sensei half of your life drives people insane." Before Sora could finish her sigh, Yuji grabs her hand and pulls her away from Nobara.
"See you later, Kugisaki!" Yuji waves her off with shocked Sora being pulled aside, "Wha-?"
Nobara simply shrugged them off and continued walking.
"Thank you." Sora states with relief. "No problem at all. Have you really seen the Human Earthworm movies or did you do your spooky research on me?" Yuji whispers to her, kinda creeped out by her knowledge. He never expected her to watch the kind of movies he does.
Sora glances at him weirdly with a nod, "Uh, yeah? Do you really think that what kind of movies do you like is in your file?" She looks at him dumbfounded .
Yuji quickly shakes it off with an awkward chuckle and a wave of his hands, "N-No,"
Sora continues walking and spotting an unknown girl watching the two in distance. Suddenly, Yuji jumps on her— hanging his arm around her shoulder as he pulled her closer with a smile. "It's nice to have someone to watch strange movies with. Now, I like you even more!"
Sora was found unprepared for his statement. She blushed and without thinking, elbowed Itadori in his ribs as she enhanced her walking.
The girl who was watching Yuji earlier eventually works up the courage to approach Nobara. They agree to speak at a restaurant and the girl introduces herself as Yuko Ozawa. She and Yuji went to middle school together when she was much shorter and chubbier. Her appearance has completely changed, and she gives Nobara hints that she would like to reunite with Yuji.
"It's like that?!" Nobara questioned interested. "It's like that." Yuko replies.
Determined to help, Nobara gets Ijichi to take Megumi back into the city and has him dropped off at the restaurant.
"If you're also interested in Itadori-kun—"
"No." Nobara replies quickly. "Even if hell froze over and danced the lambada..No."
Kugasaki's heart skipped a beat upon remembering Sora. He and Yuji have been close a lot and she seems to enjoy his company as well as he does hers. They did spend much time together with her training him, could've Yuji caught feelings by now?
"Yo, what's the big deal?" Megumi questions, standing by their table— irritated by the whole situation of having Ijichi bring him here.
"Hey, Fushiguro. Does Itadori have a girlfriend?"
"Huh?" Megumi replies to Nobara's question as she introduces Yuko and explains the situation. "So it's like that?!"
"Yes, It's like that!"
Megumi sits down and confirms that Yuji doesn't have a girlfriend, "....I think so." Fushiguro exchanged a suspicious glance with Nobara, both of them thinking the same thing.
"Are you the type to drink coffee black only when woman are around so you can show off?" Nobara questions as Megumi took a sip of his coffee.
"You called me out here to ask me about this, right? And I always drink it black." Fushiguro replies.
"What do you mean by 'you think' that Itadori-kun doesn't have a girlfriend?" Yuko asks nervously.
"He seems weirdly close with my sister. She despises energetic and loud people which Itadori definitely is." Megumi replies and took another sip of his coffee. Nobara softly smiles at the fact that 'sister' slipped out of Megumi's mouth and that he was referring to Sora.
Yuko wonders what Yuji's type is and Fushiguro replies that he likes tall girls. With this statement, Nobara and Yuko gained confidence as Kugisaki summons her classmate.
"Huh? Fushiguro's also here?"
Itadori and Sora were trading prizes beside the restaurant, so it didn't take them much to arrive. Sora recognised the girl that sat opposite of her friends, she was the one watching them.
Nobara remembered that she hadn't told Itadori nor Sora about Yuko and who knows how they would react. Much to everyone's surprise,Yuji recognised her. "You're Ozawa. What are you doing here? What a coincidence."
Sora shoves the bag into Megumi's lap with a loud cough as she cleared her throat. The two classmates slowly glanced up to the woman with a frightened look, "Outside, now." Sora said to Nobara. Fushiguro stood up, allowing Kugisaki to get out of her seat as she walked in front of Sora with slumped shoulders.
"That girl was watching us earlier. Who is she?" Sora questioned suspiciously. Nobara explained the situation and how Yuko has a crush on Yuji. Geto didn't know if she should laugh, feel disgusted or hurt. But why would she feel hurt? She's not in love with anyone especially Yuji. He's just a friend....just a friend.
"Oh." Sora replied to Nobara's shock. Yuji stepped outside upon seeing Sora's face go pale, "Is everything alright?" He exchanged a glance with Nobara and then towards Sora who simply nodded.
