I've always had a head cannon that the people in the Pokemon world gravitate to a certain type. It's my reason for gym leaders and elite four only using Pokemon of a specific type. So why not write a story following this premise? I do not own Pokémo...
I get on the train going to Wedgehurst. "It's gonna be a night train..." "Hatenna you want to be as fast as you can right?" I ask as I put her on the table "Ten-ten!" She answers happily. "Then we should try EV training... once we get 4 gym badges we can go to Hammerlocke University for their Speed Seminar... it might be hard to get a speed anklet... we could try to find carbos and swift feathers..." I sigh and go to check the news "the champion is in Wedgehurst?!" I groan I don't want to see the champion he's too loud... I don't think I've seen any picture or video of him not yelling or screaming at the top of his lungs.
The champion grew up here with his younger brother... let's look him up... his name is Hop? That's a weird name what does he look like? I tap images and the first one to come up is a picture of him with his wooloo

Shit he's kinda cute... I blush looking at the thing and I put the phone down. Maybe I'll meet him in Wedgehurst...No. NO. Stop thinking about the cute guys you have work to do! Besides he's probably straight! After a few hours I go to sleep and then the next day I wake up still bored out of my mind.
The train finally stops and I put my phone in my pocket. Wait. Did she say in Professor Magnolia's lab or her house!?
I look at the map on my phone and see the lab is closer so I should try there first... hopefully I'm right...
I walk over to the lab, it honestly looks pretty nice for being in such a small town. I knock on the door just in case. After a few seconds a woman that looks to be around her late 20s with ginger hair in an odd side ponytail with heart clips open the door. "Um, hi is Professor Magnolia here?" I ask nervously "Not at the moment no, why do you need something? I haven't seen you around before." She answers motioning for me to come in and take a seat. I come in and sit down. "I just moved to Circhester from Unova and Professor Juniper decided it would help me if I knew the main Professor in the Galar region" I explain trying to clear the questions. "It's nice to meet you I'm Sonia Magnolia, Professor Magnolia is my Gran, what's your name?" She introduced holding her hand out for me to shake "Edward" as I say that a Yamper starts barking beneath us. "How cute!" I pet Yamper's head getting shocked a bit nut it's nothing compared to the Joltiks in Unova. The door opens and Yamper barks at the people entering. It's the champion and a girls around my age. Wait. THE FREAKING CHAMPION. Just my luck...
"What is it today, Leon? Looking for info on another never-before-seen, super strong Pokémon? I wish you'd stop with these outlandish requests." Leon pets Yamper "It's good to see you too, Yamper! Yamper here is a real champ when it comes to helping you find your way around. He came to my rescue plenty of times back in the day, when I got lost on the road. Oh yeah, and that's his Trainer, Sonia. What can I say about Sonia? Well, I like the way she cooks. She makes food you can gobble down in a flash."
The girl chuckles at the information given about Sonia and I giggle too. The girl walks over and sits next to me and says in an accent "Hey Mate, I'm Gloria, what's yer name?" She waves at me. "I'm Edward and this is Hatenna" I gesture at my Pokemon "Hat-ta" my starter says. "Well, if we're introducing Pokemon, here is me Sobble!" She opens her pokeball and her Sobble comes out looking a little nervous. "Hi Sobble" I wave and I gesture for Hatenna to talk to her. "So you have a water affinity Gloria?" I ask making small talk "I do, and you have a psychic affinity, I got Sobble yesterday she's me starter, are you new too?" I nod "I just got to Galar from Unova, my dad's side of the family is in Circhester"
Just as I say that Leon walks out and Sonia walks over "you both have rotom phone's right?" We both nod our heads "then I'll gift you the Pokédex app" she takes our phones and downloads the app "That's a gift from my gran" she hand our phones back "oh I almost forgot!" I check the time, I got on a train that would get here and hour early so I still have a bit more than half an hour "Gloria, are you going to the Professor's house too?" Gloria nods "let's go together!" I smile at her and put hatenna on my head and the Mr. Mime egg in my back pack. "Just so you know Leon's little brother Hop will probably come with us" she informs nonchalantly. "What"
