Kabanata 10

"Good afternoon passengers. This is the pre-boarding announcement for flight 89B to Tokyo, Japan. We are now inviting those passengers with small children, and any passengers requiring special assistance, to begin boarding at this time. Please have your boarding pass and identification ready. Regular boarding will begin in approximately ten minutes. Thank you."

I pulled my carry-on luggage with me when I heard the announcement.

"Wait up, I bought some snacks," Kaito said and stood beside me. He's holding a paper bag and his small luggage as well.

"Anong binili mo para sa akin?" tanong ko. Papunta na kami ngayon sa eroplanong sasakyan papuntang Japan.

"Matcha-flavored donuts, Madam, paborito mo," aniya.

"Yun, thanks!"

Kaito wanted to buy First Class tickets, but I told him we should get Economy. Buti naman hindi na siya nakipagtalo. Umupo kaming dalawa, nasa pagitan kami ng dalawa pang passenger. Inilagay ni Kaito ang mga bag namin sa itaas.

"How are they?" he asked when he sat on his seat.

"Okay na, gising na si Yeon. Si Maki at Haoran naman maayos na rin," I checked their status before I left the hospital for my small vacation. It was a relief that they're now in good condition.

"You really didn't show yourself to them?"

I shook my head. "Hindi na kailangan... it's not the same as before, Kaito. Everything's different now, we're just mere strangers."

"Sus, strangers pero iniyakan."

I rolled my eyes. "Bakit? May ibang pasyente rin naman akong iniyakan kahit 'di ko ka-close."

"Yeah, right."

"May itineraries ka na ba?" I asked him.

"Tinatanong pa ba 'yan? Syempre wala."

I showed him my notes app. "I figured, so I made one. Although I'm not sure if accessible ba lahat, pero nilista ko nalang lahat ng magaganda."

"Puntahan natin 'yan lahat," aniya pero pagtingin ko ay nakapikit lang siya. Hinampas ko ang braso niya, hindi naman pala binabasa!

I scrolled down, and found my past notes... naka-sync kasi yung account ko kaya yung notes na hindi ko pa binubura mula sa dati kong phone ay narito pa rin. Grabe, ilang taon na ba 'tong mga notes ko? Magiisang dekada na yata 'to.

The first one made my heart a little happy, I'm living in my younger self's manifestation. I've been to Canada and Saudi Arabia, but not with Yeon, nor Maki and Hao. Now I'm going to cross out another one from the list, and it's Japan. I selected multiple notes to delete, I had too.

I had to move forward without them, I have no other choice.
