Something had happened.

I could tell from the second Sophie entered the room.

Her emotions had always been strong.

But they were even worse when it was a negative emotion.

Her sadness I could feel from across the room.

She sat down at the table.

I gave her a look, asking if she was alright.

I will be. She had transmitted to me.

That couldn't be good.

I felt her sad got thicker, almost smothering me.

"What happened?" I asked the girls in general, one of them would know.

Linh glared at me, I didn't know she could even glare.

Marella sighed like it was obvious.

Biana just ignored me.

"Dude what did you do?" Asked Fitz.

I shrugged.

It had been going so good with me and Sophie last night.

I didn't understand what had gone so terribly wrong.

I tried to forget it for the moment, no one would tell me anyways.

We ate in silence.

I tried to puzzle through Sophie's emotions like they would tell me.

It almost never worked like that.

I felt sadness, a lot of it.

I also felt regret, and confusion.

What could she regret, be sad and confused by?

After breakfast everyone gathered around the leapmaster and started leaping away.

I knew I couldn't go back to Candleshade yet.

I leapt to Havenfield, I hoped to catch Sophie before she went into her room and never came out.

"Sophie!" I called out.

She turned and saw me.

The expression on her face was unreadable.

"Hey, Keefe." she looked exhausted like she hadn't slept.

"Can I know what is wrong?" I asked.

If she decided not to tell me, I would leave it there, I wouldn't being annoying and nosy.

"No. I need to remember something first." She told me.

"Remember something? Like you forgot?" I asked.

She nodded.

"Well, I'll let you do that." I said.

She nodded again and head towards the house.

I quickly leapt to Slurps and Burps, I needed to get one thing.

"Ah, Keefe, more prank stuff I presume?" Kesler asked.

"Not this time, I need a memory serum." I told him.

Kesler raised an eyebrow but went to find the serum.

"Does it have Limbium in it?" I asked.

"Ah, for Sophie? I think I have a Limbium free one here somewhere.." He shuffled through some bottles.

"I hope this works." He said, handing me a small bottle.

"Thanks." I said.

I leapt back to Havenfield.

I knocked on the door of the house.

Grady opened it, "Oh, it's you."

I knew he didn't like me and I knew I didn't want to make him angry.

"Can you get this to Sophie?" I handed him the bottle.

"It's not a weird love potion?" He asked suspiciously.

"No, it's a memory serum, she needed to remember something." I didn't break eye contact, daring him to refuse.

There was a moment before he agreed and totally slammed the door in my face.

Hopefully Sophie would appeciate the serum.

Maybe it would help her.
