Five Years Old

"Why are your hair weird?", a five years old Madelyyn exclaimed as she puff her chubby cheek.

An equally five years old Lorenzo peer at her through his curtain bangs as his swing slowly came to a halt, "I... I d-don't know"

Truthfully he was embarrassed of the fact that Diego had managed to convince him to cut his hair with a scissor in a shape of a water ladle, saying that it will make him more noticeable. It did, but not in a way he had hoped for. Lorenzo had been innocently convinced due to his brother's reputation of catching the attention of girls whenever they attend any parties or simply just walking down the street.

Madelyyn hum thoughtfully as she pull her face unconvincingly, "Why weren't you looking at me? Mommy said if someone is talking to you without looking at you straight in the eye, that means they're lying"

"I'm not a liar", Lorenzo exclaimed as he step down from his swing.

Madelyyn's eyes widen in surprised by the sudden act of bravery and upon seeing them, Lorenzo mistaken them as her being frightened and he swiftly averted his eyes from her gaze, his face went red with embarrassment.

"Weirdo", she muttered before turning her back on him and started to walk back towards the house.

Though her step faltered when she heard him uttered, "You're hair look like a bird nest"

"What?", Madelyyn halted her step as she gritted the words in frighteningly low tone.

He started to apologise but before he could, he felt his hair being pulled out of his root and a scream tore from his mouth. Madelyyn had jump on him and pull his ladle shaped hair with all her might.

"I'll show you a bird nest", she shouted as if readying herself for a war.

Lorenzo try to pry her hand but her grip was too strong and if he was to used an extra force, mommy would scold him - 'You cannot hurt a girl even though you have done the most gravest sin in your lifetime'

Instead, he cry out for help with all his might in hope that the butler will notice them before Madelyyn make him bald as an egg shell. It had felt like a half an hour before he could hear a thunder of footsteps making their way towards them even though in reality it had only been not more than two minutes.

"Madelyyn", a woman voice gasp in surprised before he felt his hair freed from her monstrous grip.

"Let go of me", Madelyyn exclaimed haughtily.

"Enough Maddy", Uncle Malakai chide her daughter softly but firmly.

Lorenzo let out a whimpered when his mother picked him up as a single tear escaped the corner of his eyes.

"I'm so sorry, guys", Aunt Keira apologise to both of his parents but Madelyyn pull her nose up in the air before she roll her eyes at him.

"He should be the one apologising, Mommy", Madelyyn said in a hard tone.

"Enough, apologise to the Romanov right now", her mother chide her once more and stubbornly, Madelyyn turn her head around to face the opposite direction.

"That' quite alright, Keira. They must've had some misunderstanding", Olivia intervened.

"But the thing Maddy did was out of line", Malakai try to reason before his daughter interrupted him.

"He said my hair looks like a bird nest daddy", Madelyyn defend herself before pouting her lower lips in an attempt to gain sympathy.

Olivia gasp before turning to her  youngest son, "Lorenzo. That is not the way I teach you to speak to a woman"
