Colt Haven

Kendall's POV

After Tommy rode the horse at least three times—lasting about 4 seconds the first time, 5 seconds the second, and nearly 8 seconds the third but finishing at 7—it was so cute seeing Y/n run out there to pick Tommy up and swing him around.

I couldn't get over seeing her on that horse, in her element. It was just... amazing, truly amazing. I've never been so turned on in my life until I saw her on that horse. I could literally see her muscles through her clothing, and those tight Wranglers and leather chaps—good lord.

I was snapped out of my thoughts while standing with our horses, Y/n walking up to me with lunch that Betty had prepared. She had this bright smile as she got closer, asking, "Hey cowgirl, you ready?" Her calling me that made me blush. "So it's Cowgirl now and not ranch hand?" I teased her, referring to our earlier banter.

Speaking of which, I can't even get started on that... I felt her hands on my hips, my body heating up, and a surge of electricity shot through me. This teasing back and forth we had going on was actually a lot of fun. I love that she's opening up more with me; it's great to see her teasing me in return.

Y/n laughed, "Well, which name would you prefer to be called?" she asked. I thought back to this morning when she called me 'darlin.' The way she said it sent shivers down my back. So, I decided to test the waters with her. "Well, I did like how you called me 'darlin' earlier," I said, crossing my arms and looking at her with a raised eyebrow. I saw her eyes widen a bit and her hazel eyes turn almost a dark blue. "That could probably be arranged," she teased. This time, I giggled. "Well, shall we get going... Colt?" I asked as I turned around and mounted Bullet. I heard her laugh as she mounted Blaze and started following after Bullet and me.

As we reached a high point on the mountain, overlooking the scenery of trees and other mountains, Y/n had a rolled-up blanket attached to her saddle. She used that for us to sit on for our picnic. There was a boulder behind us that we leaned against while sitting down. The whole setup was cute, so I took a cute pic. My sisters, mostly Kylie, begged me to take pictures to send them. They almost had a heart attack when they saw the video of Y/n on the horse today. Kylie is the only one I've talked to about my feelings toward Y/n, and she shrieked with excitement. Of course, she said the way Y/n and I are dancing around with each other is how she and Kingsley were when they first started talking.

I smile and shake my head in disbelief, seeing how Betty had packed up all this food for us, all neatly placed in a leather bag for Y/n to carry. "Betty always overdoes it," Y/n chuckles, nibbling on some cheese and crackers. I lean back against the boulder and gaze up at the sky with a sigh.

"What's wrong?" Y/n asks, turning to look at me.

"Nothing, everything's just been perfect. This trip... being here has been exactly what I needed," I tell her, feeling a gentle wave of contentment.
