After four months

Devyani's pov –

I was sitting in the balcony, gazing at the sunset. Dev was seated on another chair beside me, working on his laptop.

As I cut the fruits and beetroot that Sharda Maa had given me, insisting me to eat them for my good health, I glanced at Dev.

Memories flooded my mind as I looked at him.

It has been more than two and a half years, almost like three years since I married Dev, and I can say that the time I've spent with him has been pure bliss.

I remember the early months were difficult; as he didn't accept the marriage at first.

But over time, he opened up to me, and we overcame every problem together. I never expected Dev to turn out the way he has.

When we got married, he was cold, distant, rude, and short-tempered.

But now, look at him.

Yes, he's still temperamental and intimidating, but only to those who cross him. I've seen a completely different side of him—naughty, happy, calm, supportive, mischievous, with his cheeky lines.

I never expected this side of Dev, but I guess life is full of surprises.

These three years with him have been the best time of my life, and he's taken care of me every step of the way.

"Biwi," I heard Dev's voice, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Hmm," I replied, looking at him.

"You've been cutting fruits for a while now; it's time to eat them and you've been staring at me from past few minutes. What are you thinking about?" he asked, gesturing toward the plates of fruit in my lap.

"I was thinking about you," I replied honestly, and he smiled, nodding his head.

"As expected! I'm always on your mind," he said, returning to his work on the laptop.

"Always," I replied, taking a piece of apple to eat and offering the plate to him. He shook his head. "Biwi, you should eat all this. It's good for the babies. And your due date is tomorrow, so eat well," he said.

"Dev, I am eating, and you need to take care of your health too. When the babies come, you'll have to handle them. I've done it for nine months. Now it's your turn," I replied, and he chuckled.

"Here, eat this," I said, offering him some beetroot and he shook his head again.

"Dev aap na Chukanadar khaya kariye, isse khoon Laal aur Gaadha hot hai," I said, giving him a piece.

(Dev, you should eat beetroot; it makes the blood rich and healthy)

Dev looked at me and then at the beetroot in my hand. "Biwi, ab tum Khoon bhi high quality ka piogi," he replied, and it took me a moment to catch his meaning.

(Biwi, now you want to drink high-quality blood)

I grabbed the pillow from the sofa chair and threw it at him, hitting him on the forehead.

He started laughing.

"Tum bahot Hinsak hoti jaa rahi ho haa aajkal, Biwi. Pati par haath utha ti ho, Besharam aurat," he said, and I smacked the pillow on his head again.
