Ikshita's Pov

"You know Punjabi ?" he asked suddenly.

"Yess I know my mother was punjabi" I replied to him but he gazed at me with confusion.

"Suzzane auntie isn't christian." he asked, at which I laughed a little.

"Yes she is.'' I replied and he just glared at me for a few sweet moments and then averted his eyes to the road.

"My mom is not Suzzane. She is my stepmom. The third wife of my father." I replied to him. He hummed in understanding.

"I didn't know he had three wives, '' he said and I nodded.

"Then you are the daughter of his which wife ," he asked suddenly.

"First one, Diviyanka Batra, " I replied dreamingly remembering my mother who I hadn't seen in my life.

"You know they both had a love marriage, but then too didn't make it together."

I said to him and he moved his eyes from the road to me. His eyes were suddenly softened and had a touch of care and sympathy.

"Why ..." his voice came hoarse. He cleared his throat before asking, "why cant they make it up together ? when did they have Divorce." he asked me.

I just watch him with a pout and sad eyes.

"They didn't have a divorce. My mom passed out while giving birth to me." I said to him and he had goosebumps all over his body.

Suddenly he pulled the brake and made the car stop at the side.

"What ?" he asked me shockingly.

I nodded my head.

"Yess this is true." I replied with teary eyes. This is my truth. People call me miss fortune and with many names as the moment i took my third breath my mom took her last breath. This is the reason I never celebrate birthdays, I missed my mom at every curve of my life. I missed her when I couldn't do my homeworks, I missed her when at the departure time, mothers used to come to pick up their children. I missed her when I started the first NGO under her name. I still miss her when I find anything happy around me. I miss her every time I breathe.
