They fell for each other deeper and deeper, ready to sacrifice everything for the sake of one another.

But then, the dice were rolled once more, and fate shifted.

Conspiracies were formed, plans were set in motion, and everything was turned upside down.

Voices were heard, actions were taken, and they alone were torn apart by unbearable pain.

She left him after giving him everything she had.

He waited for her, with nothing of himself left.

"Voh hoor jo humari nighaon ka noor le gayi apne sath."

"Shehzade nahi, shaitaan the woh, bichawe ke aadh mein humara sab le gaye."

They thought differently, yet a singular goal drove their actions—

It was a black, dense, cold environment. A slight sound of creaking windows was heard, and a woman in her late fifties stood by the window.

The environment was occasionally cold; a shivering cold wind passed, making the cat by the street cry out loudly.

It was December, and the old lady had a stern look plastered on her face.

She had lost all hope of leaving twenty-four years ago.

Her eyes were deprived of love and warmth. Her agony and malnourished state were evident, and nothing could solve it now.

Everything was destroyed; the harm had already been done.

"THOSE SINGHANIAS DESTROYED ME AND MY FAMILY, BUT I DO TRUST IN GOD. HE WILL CHANGE THE TIME. KARMA WILL COME BACK. I WILL BE FREE AGAIN. I WILL TAKE REVENGE."

At that very moment, a loud thud echoed from the door, followed by a series of gunshots and the distant siren of police cars. The lady shivered, looking around her in panic.

Were they here again to devour her?

Hadn't she become old meat that no one cared about anymore?

She cried once more, praying silently, sobbing, and cursing her fate over and over again.

Her eyes moved around herself, torn clothes, thin fingers, veins popping out.

Her body had shrunk, her face was lined with wrinkles, and dark circles hung beneath her eyes.

She wasn't beautiful anymore, not like she once was.

Suddenly, with a loud crash, the door to the room flung open. A girl in her twenties stood firmly, holding a gun in her hand.

Their eyes—one set dark grey, the other dark brown—met.

They both tried registering each other's figures.

They looked the same! Same eyes in different colors, the same eyebrows, the same nose shape, and strangely, the same face.

Maybe a doppelgänger of her, arrived from her past.
