Dennis was getting really, really tired of being forgotten and ignored all the time.
His 'friends', the other people in the Society, always seemed to just conveniently forget to invite him to their hangouts. The few times they did, his contributions to conversation were responded to only with halfhearted glances or just flat-out ignored.
He tried so hard to be a good and caring friend to all of them, but none of them seemed to care. Was it his own fault? Was he the one doing something wrong? And, if so, what?
He didn't complain, though. No, he just swallowed his feelings and pretended not to be too heartbroken about it.
Just as he'd always done.
