Jeff's insomnia was hellish enough on an average day. Being sick and unable to sleep was a whole new level of torture.
His throat hurt and, every time he swallowed, it contracted with a terrible stabbing pain.
The medications the facility gave him to fight off the sickness did help some but, really, what he needed was rest- The one thing he couldn't get.
He hated his brain for that.
