— ❝ BYE, ALIA! YOU GAVE A SMALL frown as you waved bye to Armin's sister. It was currently 4pm and she had an early dinner reservation and had to go back to her place and get ready for it. The blonde waved back, a smile on her face as she walked out the front door, a small click following behind it. "You two seem to hit it off fast." Armin raised an eyebrow as he watched you turn around and adjust the towel wrapped around you. "Jealous? Maybe if you were nicer people would like you more." You smiled as you watched Armin's eye twitch slightly.

"You're going against the truce, love." A small smirk grew on his face as he noticed your grip on your towel tighten. In all honesty, you completely forgot about the truce for a moment. Insulting and arguing with Armin just became a new regular for you. "Whatever, i'm going to go shower and get ready for dinner." You rolled your eyes, walking away from Armin and up the stairs. You had been so distracted when you landed here that you hadn't even brought your suitcase upstairs or even looked around up here. That's when you noticed there was only one room.

"Armin!" You yelled, turning around to see Armin walking up the stairs. "What are you yelling for?" He rolled his eyes before noticing your annoyed expression. You pointed to the hallway, where there was two doors, one was a bathroom and one was a bedroom. "There's one room." You spoke to which Armin gave a confused expression before it turned to a face of realization. The two of you just stared between one another, no words being spoken. Though you've been living together for about a month now, you subsided to different bedrooms and have never stayed in the same bed together.

Armin shrugged his shoulders, "You're welcome to sleep on the couch." He smiled as you hit his shoulder, "You know, most gentlemen would offer to sleep somewhere else." You stated, adjusting your towel again. "Good thing i'm not most gentlemen. Now, get ready. You like taking your time like you have double the amount of hours in a day." He rubbed your back before walking off and going downstairs. "That dick." You mumbled under your breath, though you couldn't help the tingling in your stomach as you thought about him. God that man was just so insufferable.

"No. Eren I told you stop this, we don't have the time to—" Armin spoke before he turned around as he heard you coming down the stairs. He slightly raised his eyebrows as he discreetly looked you up and down. You had on a long, open back dark red dress that just barely touched the floor, a mid thigh slit on one side of it aswell. "I got to go." He quickly stated, hanging up on Eren and slipping his phone into his pocket. You smiled as you looked up at Armin, "Good? You didn't tell me the restaurant style so I just assumed." You asked, moving your hair from your face as you stood in front of Armin for a moment before walking to a corner in the room where your shoes were.

"It's fine." He blandly spoke. Though he didn't show much emotion, Armin could feel his heart beating out his chest and his thoughts wondering off to a rather foreign places, like what your skin would feel like under his hand as he bends— "You look nice, though it could use some color." Your voice interrupted Armin's rather unwelcome thoughts. He noticed as you inspected him from afar, he just had on a black button up, along with black slacks and black shoes. "You can't compliment someone than follow up with a back handed comment." He scrunched his nose as he shook his head in disapproval.

"Advice isn't a back handed compliment." You raised your eyebrows as you grabbed your small purse and walked up to Armin. Being in a foreign country didn't mean you guys were immune to paparazzi and being noticed so, the act still had to be played in public sometimes. You held your hand out to which Armin grabbed it, intertwining fingers. You made sure as you both walked out and noticed people pointing and watching you both to have your engagement ring in a position people would notice. Better for publicity or whatever. Not for personal reasons or anything..right?

You squeezed his hand as you both made your way to the car waiting out front. It was your guy's way of communicating without words in this kind of position. "Thank you." You smiled at the driver who gave a small nod, holding the door open for you. You scooted in, Armin thanking the man as well before following shortly behind you and getting comfortable. "Thanks for bringing me along. I know you probably just wanted to hurry here and then leave." You spoke, glancing at Armin then looking back out the tinted window, watching as your surroundings began moving when the car got in motion.

Armin didn't say anything, which you expected. He never spoke much but little did you know he was staring right at you, a soft look in his eyes, foreign to the normal expression of nonchalant and on guard he wore everyday. Armin admired you discreetly, watching as your eyes slightly widened when you noticed something that sparked your interest, or the way you would slightly smile when you noticed a cute couple walking down the street together. Sometimes Armin would look at you and think about how things would be different between you both if you weren't in the situation you were in.

You sometimes felt like someone he could love, someone to lean on. Like he didn't have to be afraid to be vulnerable, but he knew he could never express that. You were never going to be someone to love, someone to feel or someone to call his own. This arrangement is always going to be temporary, whether you know it or not. You aren't and never will be truly his and he knows that. So why did he feel a certain way with you? A way he's never felt with someone.

Twinges of jealousy when you spoke to other men, smiling and laughing a way you never have with him. The feeling of his heart pounding out his chest when you get too close to him and he can smell the sweet scent of your perfume. The way the house would smell just like you when he would come home from a long trip, the familiar sweet, clean scent would send shivers down his spine. Armin rubbed his temples, trying to calm the migraine forming and the sound of his heart beating rapidly to the point he could hear it in his ears.

"You okay?" You questioned, side eyeing Armin as you noticed an annoyed expression on his look as he held his head in his palms. "Yeah, fine. Just a migraine." He mumbled, shutting his eyes and slightly shaking his head in his hands. You grabbed your purse, taking out a small pill bottle of pain reliever. "I get headaches a lot to. They can mess up your sight if they get to bad so take these." You shook the pill bottle, playfully baiting the man to grab them which caused him to roll his eyes. He grabbed the bottle, your hands touching for a quick second, an almost electric shock like feeling coursed through you before you snatched your hand away and looked away from him.

The rest of the ride to the restaurant was silent, you looking out the window and Armin scrolling through his phone probably answering emails for a new system he set up so citizens can express their concerns and they get directly to him easier. You snuck a glance at Armin to see his brows furrowed and a small frown on his face. Though you always complained about how he rarely smiled or had a constant scowl on his face, it was cute. Knowing that he wouldn't smile or laugh unless it was genuine was something you actually liked about him.

He wasn't a liar.
