Ch 23

Naira s pov
Max : nayu u have been staring at that wall for 20 mins sleep
He said. We were sleeping in my room and i turned to the other side.
I : max I have to talk to him
I turned to his side and said.
Max : he would be sleeping.
I : but-
Max : no buts sleep now
He closed my and kept his arm on my shoulder. He held me close and safe in his arms not like bf but a big b. I tried my best to sleep but it just wouldn't come to me. I got up slowly and went to the terrace. It was raining and i immediately remembered our date. How he danced with me and how bhai scolded us for getting ourselves wet. I remember how he cupped my to tell me that wounds are nothing. I sat at the end of the terrace and held my knees close to my chest. I couldn't think of anything except him. Those ocean eyes, his height, his long and strong arms over my waist. His flooded all over my mind. Suddenly the rain stopped pouring over me. I looked up to see maxi holding out his hand and an umbrella covering both of us.
Max : come on u ll get a cold
I : why are u doing this
Max : cuz I care abt u, abt pat. Ever since u came he's changed. He's changed in a good way. Come on now I'll get hot cocoa.
I took his hand and he pulled me up. He swung his arm around my shoulder and walked down. He made sit near the heater and quickly brought two mugs. He sat next to me and put his arm on me.
Max : he had insomnia when he was a child. I being his neighbour used to tell him that his girlfriend would protect him from the monsters in his dream. He chased me up and down the house cuz I teased him. He said that he didn't want a girlfriend or a wife. He just wanted a-
I : dog
Max : yeah
I : I said that too.
Max : now he has a girlfriend who can  actually beat the shit out of monsters.
I laughed.
Max : he was angry nayu. I could see the rage in his eyes.
I : if I was him I think I would do the same. I was furious on my coach and Steve and ranted it on him. I shouldn't have done that.
Max : he cares abt u. Deeply. Pls don't let him go. He can be an idiot at times but he cares.
I : I won't
I kept my head on his shoulder and slept.

Pats pov
I : starc i messed up. I lost her.
Starc : she ll come back pat. Ik she will. Pls sleep.
I : I can't
Starc : then do maths
I gave him a look. He mumbled a sorry.
Pat : I going to her house.
Igot up.
Starc : she ll be sleeping.
He made me sit down.
Starc : pat max is with her. Nothing will happen to her.
I: what if she pushes me away?
Starc : she wont now sleep.
I: are u sure ? We can call max
Starc : he must be sleeping too. Pls sleep pat or I ll kill u.
I : I CANT
I shouted.
I : I'm sorry im-
Starc : it alright.
I layed down on the bed and starc was on the sofa. I told him I would sleep but I seriously couldn't. Insomnia probably I just needed naira to beat the shit out of my not proud parents. They were the monsters in the dream. I took a sleeping pill and gulped it down with water. I fell asleep.
