The clock hits 5:30 in the morning, but the sky outside is still painted black. On the horizon, the sun begins to peek from the line in the distance, spreading its golden rays throughout the atmosphere. Denis and his friends eat in the hotel, where early breakfast is served. They have red noodles and glazed chicken with rice. They also have foods reminiscent of sushi, onigiri, nigiri, and sashimi from his universe, which are all enough to make Denis drool.
"Woah! I can't believe you guys have Japanese food! I love these!" Denis grinned, gawking at the feast before him and his friends.
Harris, Chloe, Philip, Meredith, Presley, and Felix laughed. "Haha! What's Japanese?" they asked.
Oh, of course, Japan doesn't exist in this universe. Not even Denis' country, the Philippines.
"I suppose Japan and Geveria just have similar foods," Denis shrugged nonchalantly, smirking.
Denis, Harris, Chloe, Philip, Meredith, Presley, and Felix eagerly eat their meal, keen smiles adorning their faces. Since they are older and possess more dining skills in life, Denis, Harris, Philip, Meredith, and Presley use chopsticks, while Chloe and Felix, the younger ones, use spoons and forks to consume their food. Denis savours the food, gorging down on it like a hungry pig.
"Mm!" Denis moaned in delight as he chewed a tender morsel. Eating a sashimi-like chunk, Denis told Harris, "I love this!"
Harris smiled and gave Denis a slice of raw tuna with rice on his plate. "Here, try this! You might like it," he said.
Denis took a bite of the raw tuna with rice. "Wow, you have good taste," Denis complimented him.
Harris beamed at Denis, and Denis returned the grin as they exchanged gentle, playful nudges.
With eager gazes, the others noticed how Denis and Harris interacted like good friends.
"It seems like you two have gotten close," Meredith mused.
Denis and Harris nodded, confirming their newfound friendship.
Later, inside the hotel room, everyone gathers on the floor, creating a loose circle. Philip unfolds the map and says they're now on a quest to find the last two totems. They're almost done with their journey. However, this one will be difficult.
"Alright, everybody... we're now on a quest to find the last two totems... we're almost done with our journey. However, this part will be difficult," Philip announced, his eyes scanning the map.
"Why?" Denis wondered aloud. "Would it be like any other quest but harder?" He snickered, "I hope Geveria will be like Versobert Woods. Heh."
"The reason why this part will be difficult is because Geveria is huge. And what I mean by huge is... extremely huge!" Philip stated. He then showed Geveria, encircled on the map, to Denis.
"Oh, my..." Denis' jaw hung loose as he comprehended the massive size of Geveria, comparing it to Asbranne. "Did... did Oracle Miriam specify where in Geveria the last two totems are?" Denis inquired.
"Well, she said it's in Geveria but didn't specify exactly," Philip replied.
"How will we even find the last two totems?" Denis pondered.
Everyone was silent.
"...We just have to rely on faith," Philip muttered, breaking the silence.
