I heard that Evidence us in hospital. I was released from police custody. I decided to pay her a visit the following day. She really did it. She poisoned herself. I stood on the doorway and just looked at her. Mama was right. Jealousy is something that kills people. Why is she even jealous because i have nothing anyways? What will she gain? A man that i do not even want? Me and her grew up together. Since we were babies. We loved and cared for each other. I would do anything for her. I don't know what changed. Is it because i was doing very well at school? That can be the only thing she'd be jealous of. Apart from that i have nothing that would make her jealous. She turned and looked at me. She looked so scared.

Me:why? What sin did i commit for you to do this?
Eve:leave before I call security!
Me:why poison yourself? Are you that desperate?
Eve:you poisoned me! You wanted to kill me! Are you here to finish your job? Please leave. I'm begging you!
Me:you're such a good actor. You'd win an award for this.
Eve:leave.
Me:you know i thought you would have changed by now. I just want to tell you what this stupid plan of yours is going to do. You will ruin my life with this. What of my mother? Who will take care of her? I'm all she has. Your family took everything and now you want to take md from her? Do you know that i won't be able to finish my degree if i go to jail? You delayed me by making me fail matric. Now you want to do this. You're using my mind to do well at school. Isn't that enough? Where's my textbook? What did you do with it?
Eve:doctor!

She pressed that thing and cried. Tears were actually falling on her eyes. She is really a pro at this.

"Xiluva what are you doing here?"

It was Desmond.

Me:I'm here to talk to your fiancé to stop this madness. I didn't poison her!
Des:please leave.
Me:Desmond i didn't do this. She's scared because she knows that you love me and can leave her. I don't even want you. Tell her to drop the charges!
Des:you have to leave. You are upsetting her.

I left them. I was really defeated. There was nothing i could do anymore. With that act of hers i can spend my whole life in jail.

Des:wait.
Me:what do you want?
Des:why did you do it?
Me:you think I'd do that? Then you don't know me.
Des: i want you to stay away from her. Don't ever contact or come near her.
Me:no. You stay away from me. Even when I'm proven Innocent don't ever try to get close to me. This is actually your fault. She's doing all of this so that she can keep you. Good bye.

I went back to my place and looked at my timetable. I have a class in an hour. I've missed a day of school. I have to go and catch up even though it might be useless since I might go to jail.

Austin:are you going to be fine? You can skip  your classes this week.
Me:no. I'm going to school. Even though it might be useless. You know when you told me to leave her i listened. Little did i know she's the one who was going to turn my life upside down.
Austin:we all know you did not do it. Why don't you go to that restaurant and ask for the footage of that day you were there?
Me: Luyolo's mother said she will go there. But you might find that they got rid of it.
Austin:your boyfriend's family loves you neh? His mother is even representing you. That's a good family.
Me:yah. I don't know what i would do if it wasn't for them. I don't know how i would afford a lawyer.
Austin:she's doing it for free?
Me:yes.
Austin:if you need anything tell me okay.
Me:okay. Thanks.

I took my backpack and left for campus. When i got there i still had 20 minutes. I waited there until Keletso arrived. I like this module more because i do it with her. She's now doing third year. This is the last time I'll be doing a module with her.

Keletso:hey babe. You've been scarce these days.
Me:I'm going through staff. I'll tell you after class about it all.
Keletso:and that ring!? And you didn't even tell.me!
Me:he proposed.
Keletso:I'm so happy for you. Am i going to be maid of honour?
Me:of course. Even though it might not happen anytime soon.
Keletso:why?
Me:I'll tell you after class.

It was now our class. Students started going in. We took our seats and the lecturer started his thing. My mind was absent. Ocouldn't concentrate the whole lecture.

Keletso:what was that? You weren't concentrating. You didn't even take notes.
Me:I'm going through a lot.
Keletso:let's go and sit down.

We walked to a place where it was quiet.

Me:that cousin i was looking for? She is accusing me of poisoning her. I might go to jail.
Keletso:why though? It's not like you did anything to her.
Me:it's a long story.

I started narrating to her everything that led to where i am now.

Keletso:yoh bathong. Some people are evil. What if she died by poisoning herself? This world is full of crazy people. People like her already have a place reserved for them in hell.
Me:and again, she wins. The innocent ones are the ones who are always facing bad things.
Keletso:just know I'm here for you.
