Aahan ☾

I unlocked the door and stepped inside, the events of the day still buzzing in my head. Closing the door behind me, I leaned against it for a moment, letting out a heavy sigh. The memory of accidentally breaking Roohi's blouse button flashed before my eyes, making me cringe internally.

What a disaster.

"Aahan, you need to get your shit together," I muttered to myself as I headed to my room.

Tossing my keys onto the dresser, I shed my suit jacket and unbuttoned my shirt. All I wanted was a hot shower to wash away the grime and, hopefully, the embarrassment of the evening. Stripping off my clothes, I made my way to the bathroom.

As the hot water cascaded over me, I couldn't help but replay the incident with Roohi in my mind.

Her look of surprise and then amusement stuck with me. "Why am I such a klutz?" I groaned.

After the shower, I put on some comfortable loungewear and headed to the kitchen for a drink. Just as I was pouring myself a glass of water, I heard the front door open. My twin sister, Aahana, walked in, her face glowing with excitement.

"Aahan! You won't believe how much fun I had tonight!" she exclaimed, practically bouncing into the living room. "The decorations, the food, the music, the guests, everything was so perfect. Just the way I wanted it. I am so happy. Today was the best day."

I gave her a small smile. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. What was the highlight for you?"

Aahana plopped down on the couch, her eyes sparkling. "Everything was amazing, but oh my god, did you see Agastya's girlfriend? She's so hot and lovely!"

I shrugged, taking a seat opposite her. "Yeah, I saw her. Whatever. I don't really care."

Aahana raised an eyebrow. "Oh, come on, Aahan. You can't tell me you didn't talk to her. She's gorgeous! And so sweet too. We talked for a bit, and she's really down-to-earth."

I rolled my eyes but couldn't help but smile a little. "If you say so."

I'm more concerned about not making a fool of myself next time.

Aahana eyed me curiously, "Why do you sound so weird. Did something happen? Oh my god did you finally made a girlfriend? Oh my god, are you getting married? Oh my-"

I sighed at her antics.

She paused, her expression turning serious. "By the way, talking of marriage, I need to tell you something."

My smile faded. "Don't tell me, I am in no mood to murder someone."

"No idiot, it's not about my simulation boyfriend proposing me. I am single, only because of you. It's about mom-"

"That woman is not our mother, and this is the last time I am warning you to stop calling her 'mom', and we do not talk about her. It's late go to sleep." I gritted and stood up to leave, before Aahana stops me.

"She called"

"What did she want?" My jaw clenched,

"She said she's found the perfect match for me and wants me to come over to discuss it," Aahana said, her tone a mix of irritation and resignation.

If anything, I clenched my jaw so hard that it started hurting, "She has no right, and you are not going anywhere to meet anyone."

Aahana sighed. "I know, but it's hard to ignore her. She sounded so insistent."

I shook my head. "You don't owe her anything, Aahana. We've built our lives without her interference. You should do what makes you happy, not what she wants."
