Raena went to the room upstairs and turned on the lights. She noticed a closet and opened and found many dresses.
She was going through the dresses to check which would fit her, and eventually she found a red dress that was below her knees.
She wore the dress and went downstairs, and saw the man seungcheol conversing. "Thanks for the clothes" She thanked the man and went towards seungcheol. The man just smiled and went towards the fireplace.
"Is it working?" Raena asked seungcheol about the phone
"No.., we'll try again once the rain subsides" He said looking around the house
Raena nudged her head towards the man while seungcheol just shrugged. "Uh.. Can we stay here till the rain stops?" Seungcheol asked the man
"Sure.. Why not" The man said while maintaining the fire
Seungcheol removed his jacket and sat on the couch along with Raena. "Who's dress this is??" Raena asked him out of curiosity since she didn't find any female in the house
"It belongs to my mother" He said
"Where is she?" Seungcheol asked
"She's dead now" He said still focused on the fire
Raena and Seungcheol just kept quiet and didn't say anything, until Raena thought to break the silence.
"We rarely see people who don't use mobile phones these days, so, when you said you don't use one..." She trailed off
"Is that a crime??" He asked before looking at her and going back to do what he was doing earlier
"No I didn't mean that.. It's just surprising" She said immediately not wanting to offend the man
"I tried using it once. But I couldn't get accustomed to it" He said while poking the wood with a poker
Raena just nodded and looked around
"So, do you stay here alone? It's a nice house. How many--"
"Shhh" The man interrupted raena and with a creepy smile
He leaned on the coffee table and said "As your host, I reserve the right to ask you the questions. And as my guests, I'm more than excited to hear your answers" He said with a smile and looked at seungcheol "so..i'll ask the questions"the man said while they both looked at each other.
" What are your names??" He asked while sitting on he couch
"Song Raena" Raena replied
"Choi Seungcheol" Seungcheol said after Raena
"You're not a married couple, right?"
He said
"Why do you say so?" Raena asked him since he guessed it right
"It's just an observation. Moreover, you haven't known each other for that long. At the most... Two or three months." He said while looking at seungcheol
Seungcheol and Raena looked at each other with a smile knowing that it was true.
"Three months. How did you guess? " Raena asked with a smile
"Observation. The space between you two makes it clear" He said smirking while nudging his head to the space between both of them, while they both just chuckled.
"Apart from going on trips with your boyfriend..do you do anything else?" He asked raena
"Yes. I'm a lawyer" She replied
"Lawyer? People who convert lies to the truth for a living??" He said while smirking
"Do you have something against the lawyers??" Raena asked the man with an eye brow raised, offended by his question
"Not against lawyers.. But against lies." He said while glancing at seungcheol
"Whether something is a lie or truth, the court decides, not the lawyers. Nor does the public have the right to say it. Your truth could be a lie for someone else, right?" She said.
"I don't understand" The man said while leaning on the couch
"See.. Something that is common between truth and lies are facts. Lawyers try to bring forth those facts!
"What do you say Mr seungcheol?" He asked while looking at seungcheol.
"I agree with her."After all, lies are the masks that cover the truth" He said with a smile.
"Are you a lawyer too?" The man asked seungcheol
"Oh no.. I'm a writer." He said
"A writer? Well..tonight's guests are really exceptional..Well what's the novel's name?? If it's something thriller, I might've read it" He asked seungcheol
" 'The Darkness' But you wouldn't have read it, since it's not so popular and it was released recently " Seungcheol said
"The Darkness... " He smiled and repeated and suddenly stood up and walked towards the book shelf that was located behind the couch Raena and Seungcheol were sitting.
He searched for the book and took it out from the shelf "Did you have the courage to read it Raena?" The man asked her
"No.." " You won't believe me when I say this, but i had the courage and good fortune of reading it" He said and showed them the book while smiling
"Oh! You've read it? What's your opinion on this?" Seungcheol asked him excitedly
"Nothing. I have a bad opinion" The man said and walked towards the bar that was located right there, while seungcheol was shocked to hear that
"What's your opinion on wine Raena?" He asked after he went to the bar area
"Wine? A good opinion"she said and smiled.
"You can help yourself" He said, while Raena was about to go, seungcheol stopped her and said he would bring her the wine, she agreed and was looking at the paintings and photos that were hung on the wall
