Mrs. Min suddenly announced, "My daughter will be arriving soon."

The bell rang, signalling the arrival, and the butler quickly stepped forward to open the door.

As the door swung open, a couple stood in the doorway. The woman smiled while the man beside her stood tall. Grandma Kim moved forward gracefully, a warm greeting already on her lips.

"Welcome, dear," Grandma said, embracing the woman, then turning to shake the man's hand.

But something was different.

Taehyung straightened up, his expression darkening as his eyes locked on the man at the door. Jungkook, standing beside Taehyung, stiffened as well. Her playfulness from earlier was gone, replaced by an icy stillness as she recognized the man.

Jungkook's hand reached for Taehyung's arm, gripping it tightly. She felt her heart pound in her chest. Taehyung's jaw clenched.

"He...?" Jungkook whispered but the word died on her lips.

She didn't need to ask. She already knew.

Taehyung's anger flared as he stared at the man at the door. Every muscle in his body tensed, and a storm brewed in his dark eyes. He felt an urge to protect what was his, and in that moment, Jungkook was everything.

"Sangwoon," Taehyung whispered the name a low growl that echoed with suppressed rage.

Jungkook clutched his hand tightly, her heart racing as old memories flashed through her mind—vivid snapshots of her engagement day, where Sangwoon's predatory glances made her skin crawl. She remembered how he had loomed over her, his presence suffocating, and how she had felt trapped in a web of expectations.

The unease she had felt that day came rushing back, and she shivered slightly, wanting nothing more than to erase those memories.

On the other hand, Taehyung fisted his hand tightly, his knuckles turning white as a flood of memories rushed through his mind. The mere mention of Sangwoon's name was enough to ignite the storm inside him. He remembered the rumours—Sangwoon's whoring habits, the countless women he had exploited, and the malicious way he toyed with people for his gain. But the most infuriating memory of all was how Sangwoon had targeted Jungkook.

Taehyung's jaw clenched as the image of those vile snapshots flashed in his mind—images Sangwoon had taken of Jungkook without her consent, moments she hadn't even been aware of, stolen and used in the most degrading way.

His mind replayed the painful details of that dark chapter—how Sangwoon had gotten too close to Jungkook, his sick obsession, the way he had manipulated situations just to be near her. Taehyung had learned of it all later, and it had nearly broken him, knowing someone had violated Jungkook's privacy in such a disgusting manner.
