Night Time

Kims Manor

At the dinner table, the family gathered for their evening meal.

The glow of the chandelier bathed the grand dining room in soft light, throwing a golden hue over the polished mahogany table. The Kim family sat around it, the aroma of freshly cooked dishes wafting through the air.

As they settled into their seats, Grandma, seated at the head of the table, looked around with a thoughtful expression.

"Taehyung," she began, her voice carrying a note of seriousness, "there's something I need to discuss with you."

Taehyung looked up from his plate, "Yes, Grandma?"

Grandma cleared her throat and continued, "We've received a proposal for Jimin. It's from a well-regarded family in the city. They're quite respected and the match seems promising."

Taehyung's expression remained calm but his eyes narrowed slightly as he listened. Jungkook glanced between them.

Grandma added, "I wanted to make sure you were aware, as your opinion is important in these matters. We'll discuss it further as a family but I thought you should know."

Taehyung nodded, acknowledging her words. Jungkook could feel a knot forming in her stomach at the thought of Jimin being proposed. She turned her attention to Taehyung, searching his face for a reaction.

Grandma's gaze remained fixed on Taehyung, her curiosity evident. She set down her fork and leaned slightly forward, her eyes keen. "Taehyung, what are your thoughts on the proposal?"

Taehyung paused, taking a moment to consider his response. He placed his napkin neatly on his lap and met his grandmother's gaze with a thoughtful expression.

"I don't think we should proceed with Jimin's marriage right now."

The table fell silent. Family members looked up, their expressions showed surprise and curiosity. Grandma's eyes widened and she leaned back in her chair, her brows furrowing. "Taehyung, what do you mean? This is a serious matter."

Jungkook's eyes darted between Taehyung and the rest of the family, sensing the shift in mood. Her hand, which had been resting on her lap, now tightened into a small fist.

Taehyung's expression remained resolute as he continued, "I believe we need more time to understand the implications and ensure that this decision is truly in Jimin's best interest."

Grandma cleared her throat, attempting to regain composure.

Grandma's brows knitted together as she asked, "But why? The groom is perfect."
