SCENT OF LOVE (editing)

Hey, everyone this is venus. As the Scent of Love has finished (practically) I have so many things to rant out. It's just for my satisfaction y'all can read it or skip it. I have given information about sol & Pol at the end. Do check it out!

I have done a Q&A session on Instagram but was not able to answer everyone. So if y'all have any questions or reviews just drop your comments here. I will try to answer everyone 🎀

I wanted to tell you all how I came up with this book~

I have been writing since 2022, I wrote many stories with fantasy and sci-fi genres but never romance. My bsf read a few of my works and she used to say to me that I should post them for others to read but I didn't have much confidence.

In 2023 October, I finally made up my mind to post my book on Wattpad. I had a few drafts but I wanted a fresh book as my debut? I wanted this book to be connected to me and my childhood somehow.

Scent of Love had gone through Major changes from October to December when I started posting it

I am Indian, yet i didn't wanna write a Desi book, nor American. In October it was time for the ICC cricket world cup. After India my favourite team is Australia and that's why sol takes place in Sydney

Also because I love Australian k-pop idols 😭

Then came the tropes, book girl × biker guy. That was a trope everyone would love to read and hence I kept it. Didn't decide other tropes get

Then came the names, Stella's name from an animation I used to watch as a kid 'winx club' it had a fairy called 'stella' she loved fashion and clothes and I wanted my childhood to be connected here so i kept it

Liam's name was gonna be Asher Carter, but something in me said that this doesn't seem right. After searching for a long time I came across 'liam' it meant 'protector'

You know the trend sunshine × sunshine protector?
Here it's star (Stella) × star protector (Liam)

Jasmine's character is written for me, her personality is totally me. And the reason her name is Jasmine is because she is my favourite Disney princess after Rapunzel

Lucas's character was written as my type of character 😭

Scent of Love was supposed to be named 'Entwined' but it didn't sound so good and afterwards I came up with the idea of the perfume scene and changed the name.

The plot was also so different, originally this story was supposed to have only 30 chapters.

Stella needs her senior to help in the project. Liam was supposed to be the final year student. His personality was supposed to be cocky, you can say like a jerk? He would give Stella a really hard time and trouble her. But later his character was supposed to under a huge character development and fall for Stella. Saying in simple words Liam was that Hot, cold, bad boy biker 😭

But at the last moment I changed it, I wanted a really soft & loveable MMC and I succeeded in it. I wrote his character that way that everyone would want a guy like Liam. I seriously tried to write him flawlessly 🙂

In November i totally changed the storyline. I made Liam a fashion illustrator, son of Stella's role model. And the past connection. Their family drama and all. Everything was set from the tropes to storyline except how they meet 😅

I was so confused about what to write? That's the night I was sitting in my living room with my family watching Shahrukh Khan's movie Dilwale. It had a scene where the FMC's car is not working and he comes and fixes it. I was like- let's recreate it!!

I added so many of my Life things into this story. Like Stella and Jasmine's conversation are like the talk my friends and I have. The tangled lantern scene, the kingdom dance scene

As I changed Liam's character to a soft one I was still missing that bad boy character and that's why Jeff was added. He was supposed to be the og villian but I changed it to give this story a hug plot twist, he was also written to make you all think he is the actual stalker

If you notice Jeff's surname is Anderson. That also happens to be AARON WARNER's surname 🤭 and if we have shatter me fans here you will notice that Jeff's backstory is similar to Aaron except that Jeff didn't get his happy ending

Everything was decided since January, all the scenes and plot twist. I didn't think it would take so long to complete the story and it would be a ride of all the emotions. Yet it turned out so well, the 2022 me wouldn't believe what I achieved 💌

Author's Note -

In between everything, I wrote this story for my happiness and thought i wouldn't get much recognition but never in my wildest dreams I thought that sol would get 700+ reads 😭

Like seriously I was so shocked that y'all loved this story so much that you didn't want it to end. Got so many compliments

I would say it a million times how grateful I am for each of your love and support yet it wouldn't be enough 🥹

I know everyone is waiting for Potion of Love (Jasmine and Lucas's Book)
It was my vacation going on that's why I was able to post constantly but I don't think I can because I have to go back to my studies and college etc....

Sol's epilogue will come out somewhere in June only
Pol will also start in Juner but you all have to wait.

I am really tired and I need some rest before I start the book. Hope y'all understand 🤍
