THIRD PERSON POV
The next day dawned bright and sunny, casting a cheerful glow over the Singhania mansion. Despite the external brightness, a storm brewed within Sanya's heart. She tried to mask her unease, but her mind remained restless, the thought of Gautam meeting Saanvi gnawing at her.
The family friends get-together was in full swing, with laughter and chatter filling the air. The garden was beautifully decorated, and everyone was dressed in their finest attire. As the festivities began, the girls—Alia, Nisha, Aashi, Ayesha, Riya, and Samaira—noticed her subdued demeanor.
"Sanya, you look stunning," Aashi said, trying to lift her spirits.
"Thanks, Aashi," Sanya replied, managing a weak smile.
Riya nudged her gently. "We know you're worried about Gautam meeting Saanvi, but you have to trust him."
"I do trust him," Sanya said, her voice wavering slightly. "It's just... hard to ignore the past."
Nisha added, "Remember what we talked about yesterday. Gautam loves you and is committed to your future together. Even though he hasn't confessed yet, he's making efforts and his eyes sparkle whenever you're around."
Sanya nodded, trying to appear convinced. "I'll keep that in mind."
Alia leaned in, her tone softer. "We all see how much he cares for you, Sanya. He's a good guy. He won't let you down."
Despite her facade, Sanya's heart ached with an indescribable angst. The fear of losing Gautam to his past loomed large, casting a shadow over her thoughts.
Meanwhile, in another part of the mansion, Gautam pulled Ishaan aside.
"Ishaan, I have to meet Saanvi for dinner tonight," Gautam said. "She won't stop pestering me otherwise."
Ishaan sighed, his expression one of reluctant acceptance. "I don't like it, but I understand. Just make it quick and clear, Gautam."
Gautam nodded. "I will. Thanks, Ishaan."
As the party progressed, Gautam couldn't help but notice Sanya's somewhat cold shoulder towards him. Her usual warmth seemed distant, replaced by a subtle, almost imperceptible chill. It pained him to see her like this, and he knew he couldn't go through with the dinner.
As evening fell, the mansion's garden was a scene of vibrant celebration. Music played, guests danced, and laughter echoed through the air. But amidst the revelry, Gautam's thoughts were preoccupied with Sanya's unease.
Suddenly, Gautam received a message on his phone. It was from Saanvi: "I'm outside the gate. We need to talk."
He could feel his jaw tighten. Excusing himself discreetly, he made his way to the gate. As he stepped outside, he saw Saanvi waiting, her expression determined.
"Saanvi, what are you doing here?" Gautam asked, irritation evident in his voice.
"I needed to see you," Saanvi replied, her eyes pleading. "You owe me that much."
Gautam took a deep breath, trying to keep his composure. "Saanvi, I'm marrying Sanya. You're my past, and I need you to respect that."
"But why did you help me at the charity event?" Saanvi demanded, her voice rising. "Why did you punch my ex-fiancé if you didn't care about me?"
"My patience wore thin. "I did it for the sake of humanity, Saanvi. Nothing more."
Saanvi's eyes flashed with anger. "You still love me, Gautam. Why are you going ahead with this arranged marriage when you clearly have feelings for me?"
