GAUTAM SINGHANIA
As the night deepened, the Singhania mansion's once-vibrant atmosphere turned somber, the worry and tension palpable among us. My thoughts raced as I sat alone in the living room, the weight of my actions pressing down on me. I couldn't lose Sanya—not now, not ever.
I walked inside the mansion, Alia and Nisha huddled together, whispering urgently about how to keep the elders from discovering Sanya's disappearance. Meanwhile, Ishaan paced the floor, his phone pressed to his ear as he coordinated with friends and extended family members in the area, asking if anyone had seen Sanya.
"We need a plan," Ishaan said, hanging up after another fruitless call. "Gautam, you stay here in case she comes back. The gang and I will keep looking. We'll check the train station and the bus stops. If she left her phone, she might not have gone far. She might still be in the city."
I nodded, grateful for my friends' support but feeling a growing sense of dread. I knew Sanya well enough to understand that if she felt truly cornered, she might do something drastic. "I'll be here," I said, my voice hoarse. "Please, just find her."
Alia squeezed my hand. "We will, bhai. Don't lose hope."
As they left, I slumped onto the couch, my mind replaying the events of the evening over and over. I felt the sting of Saanvi's words and actions but was more haunted by thinking about the look in Sanya's eyes when she had seen me & Saanvi together. I buried my face in my hands, giving a deep sigh. How had everything gone so wrong so quickly?
THIRD PERSON POV
Meanwhile, at the Washington Reagan National Airport, Sanya sat alone at a terminal, her emotions in turmoil. She had booked a one-way ticket to Taipei in Taiwan, hoping to lose herself in the anonymity of the city. She needed space to think, to breathe, to figure out what her heart truly wanted. Her company has a branch there so she would work from there. Her decision to leave had been impulsive, driven by the pain of seeing Gautam with Saanvi, but now she questioned if running away was the right choice.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the announcement of her Air China flight's boarding. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for what lay ahead. Maybe this time apart would give her the clarity she needed.
Back at the mansion, the CBG gang returned after several hours of searching, their faces etched with worry. "No luck," Ishaan said, frustration evident in his voice. "We checked everywhere we could think of, but there's no sign of her."
Gautam felt his heart sink further. "What if she left the city? What if she went somewhere far away?"
Nisha shook her head. "Sanya wouldn't do that without a plan. She's probably somewhere close by, trying to process everything. We just need to find her."
As they sat in silence, contemplating their next move, Gautam's phone buzzed. He quickly picked it up, hope flaring briefly in his chest. It was a message from an unknown number: "If you're looking for Sanya, she's at the airport. Boarding an Air China flight to Taipei, Taiwan."
Gautam's eyes widened. "She's at the airport," he said, standing up abruptly. "We need to get there now."
The entire group hurried to the car, the urgency of the situation spurring them into action. The drive to the airport felt agonizingly slow, every red light and traffic delay only increasing Gautam's anxiety.
When they finally arrived, they rushed through the terminal, scanning the crowds for any sign of Sanya. Gautam's heart pounded in his chest as he desperately looked around, hoping against hope that they weren't too late.
Finally, near the gate for the Taipei flight, he spotted her. Sanya sat alone, her face a mask of sorrow and uncertainty. Gautam's breath caught in his throat. He approached her slowly, not wanting to startle her.
