Chapter 4

OKAY HERE'S THE UPDATE

Carenna POV

I wake up from the aptitude test.

I watch as Cara is typing very fast.

"What was my result?"

"Dauntless" she says. "And Candor and Erudite"

No. NO!

I'm gonna die. Cara has to tell the board.

"Your Divergent" she says. "Which makes no sense because Divergence is passed by personality traits, which are from your parents. I know Will isn't divergent, he would have told me. That Christina girl isn't either I just looked up her results. The only way this could happen is-" she stops.  

 "Are you going to tell the head of Erudite?"

"Who Caleb Prior?" she says. I always forget that he's Katelyn's uncle."If I tell him, you will die for sure"

"Well don't you have too?" I say.

"They say faction before blood" she says. "I don't believe in that. I love my brother too much to turn you in. I know he would never forgive me if I did. Your his only daughter"

"But I would transfer too another faction" she says. "They will never find you in Abnegation or Amity"

"I'm not doing that" I say. "My best friend and I both are going to stay in Dauntless"

"Your instructors will turn you in" she says.

"You mean my mom?"

She stops. It's quiet. I look at her and know she's thinking.

"Tell your parents about this. Will would have a better answer for you"

With that she tells me to leave and only tell my parents my results.

I walk out and sit down at my table. Katelyn looks at me as I sit down next her and Lina. More names get called since Katelyn and I finished early. Andreas and Lina are called and they walk over.

I see both Erudite's walking over to their table, Malia walking faster than Gabe. Gabe looks over at the dauntless and smiles. Something inside me wonders what his test results were.

After what  seems like hours we all leave. Micheal, Lina, and some other dauntless ride the train back where as Andreas, Katelyn, and I walk back to dauntless.

"What were your test results?" Andreas asks.

"Pretty sure we can't tell you" Katelyn says. "But, I'm staying in Dauntless"

"Me too" Andreas says.

They both look at me.

"Well"

"You are not transferring are you?" Katelyn says to me.

"I mean, I don't know" I say.

"You know what Candor training is right" Andreas asked.

I shake my head.

"They put you under truth serum that forces you to tell the truth"

"I don't know what I'm gonna do, okay!" I say storming off.

I get home and my dad is sitting on the couch with his computer out. 

"Hey dad is mom home?" I ask. He nods.

"I have to talk to you" he looks up. My mom walks in the room.

"Is everything okay?"

Then I tell them. My mom looks worried and confused. But my dad knows what to do.

"Your staying in Dauntless" my mother says. 

"And I have an idea on how to make your blend in" my dad says.

"Go get the Eatons" my mother says.

I walk over to their house and knock on their door.

"My parents want to talk to you and your parents" I say to Katelyn who opens the door. She gets her parents and we go back to my apartment.

"Girls go wait in Carenna's room" my dad says.

Katelyn and I walk into my room. 

"What where your test results?" she asks me.

"What where yours?"

"Divergent" she says. She knows she can tell me anything. "Your's?"

"Divergent" I say. 

"What factions?"

"Dauntless, Candor, and Erudite" I say.

"Dauntless, Abnegation, Erudite" she says. "Carenna you have to stay"
