Chapter 7

Hey so some people responded and said they wanted Gabe's point of view

Gabe's POV

<<Flashback>>

"I can't wait till you become head of Erudite" my dad said to me. "Listen Gabe, I have a plan"

I looked up from the book I was reading. It wasn't interesting just a map of the city (/ANYONE CATCH THAT?/).

"What?" I asked.

"26 years ago our last head of Erudite had a plan. Abnegation had been breaking laws and ruining the faction system" Abnegation? You mean the selfless people?  "Dauntless didn't want to help us when we planned the attack on Abnegation. So we are going to attack Dauntless" Erudite attack Dauntless? That just seems unfair. "We are going to put them under serums and make them attack each other. The remaining Dauntless will help us" So you are going to make your army stronger by making them turn on each other? Smart. "What does this have to do with me?" I asked. "You are going to transfer to Dauntless. Don't worry about the training I made you study combat for a reason"

"What am I supposed to do there?"

"You are going to-" nope shot this out of my memory. It was too painful.

<<End of flashback>>

I wake up with a start remembering what happened. I look around for a second, making sure no one is up. Second day of training. Lucky fighting doesn't start till later this afternoon. I quickly get dressed and run out of the room. I run around Dauntless a couple times trying to think how I'm supposed to follow my fathers orders. It's too hard. I can't do it. I'm not that type of person.

I run a little more till I bump into someone. 

"Watch where your going" Katelyn says to me. 

"Sorry" I say.

"While your here" she starts. "Do you mind staying away from my friend. I don't trust you"

"Why?"

"For your information your not the only one who heard your conversation with your dad"

"How did you-" 

"My dad makes me do some of the control room stuff" she says. "I saw the whole thing"

I don''t respond.

"By the way, who are you going to choose? I mean you can't choose me because I saw the whole conversation" she says. "That's why, oh my god"

She just realized something. Oh crap "No it's not what you think-"

"Stay away from her and I won't tell anyone about this plan"

"That prevents nothing" I say to her.

"If you don't talk to her, you can't sneak in to her house, hack her dad's computer, then shut down dauntless controls and replace them with Erudite commands" she says. There it was. One of the worst plans in the world. Using people is not my thing.

"Did you ever think I have feelings for her? Not just using her for my father's plan!" I say to her almost in a yell. I didn't want to go through with this, because as much as I hate to say it, I might like her. A little.

"No you don't because you're a cold heartless Erudite" she says. 

I don't respond. I just walk back to the dorms. That girl, I can't believe she said that to me. You're cold heartless Erudite. I hated being called an Erudite, because the Erudite's I knew are cold and heartless.

I keep walking till I run into someone. What is with me and not looking where I'm going?

She looks up at me with beautiful brown eyes. I almost forgot that it was her.

"Hey" she says.

Katelyn follows up behind me, looks at us for a second the drags Carenna away.

I sit on my bed thoughts in my head.

I'm not using her like this.

But I have too. My dad wouldn't make me head of Erudite if I didn't. After he had an army he would bend some rules, take me back and make me head. It's not okay when others are bending rules but it's okay when you are.

Do you really want to be head of erudite?

Would you risk everything for a girl?

No that would be stupid, says the logical Erudite side of me.

Is doing the right thing stupid?

I just stare at the ground not knowing what to do.
