Thrae Aladran (Werewolf)

I watch Lena go around the room and touch the little artifacts on the tables. She stops in front of a picture of my mom and lifts it up. In the picture mom is pushing me on a swing it is one of the last memories I have of her. I was 6 in the picture. She died a year later in a drunk driving accident.

"Your momma?" she asks. I nod and she comes over to me with the picture. "She's beautiful. Is she one of you?"

"No. She was a human. I was a human." Lena gasps and sits up straighter.

"So you aren't born?" I shake my head. "How was you changed?"

"I had just graduated from high school and it was summer. There was a group of my friends and myself going camping up in the mountains. Three of us was going to go hiking one morning and I stopped to get a drink of water. And I was attacked from behind. I blacked out and woke up here. That was about four years ago because I just turned twenty-one last month."

"You're older than me." Lena looks at me and I hold her hand.

"That doesn't matter. What matters is us." She smiles and falls ball on the bed.

"Are we allowed to go outside at all? Like to go on a date?" My eyes widen and my mouth drops because I don't know the answer.

"I will have to ask our alpha if it is alright. I know I'm allowed to go out because I have a job to do out there, but I don't know if you can." I kiss her cheek and stand up. "I'm going to ask." I go out to the hallway and go to the closest elevator. I press the floor that alpha has an office on and wait for the doors to open. When they do alpha steps off. I take a step back and he smiles at me. "I was just going to look for you alpha."

"Sama here Thrae. How is Lena settling?"

"Really well. Has her background check came up?" My leader grins and claps a hand on my back.

"Thrae, Lena doesn't have any family. No one to recognize her on the sheets except old coworkers. You guys can go out on the streets as long as you're back before dark. I don't want any incidents like what happened with Nalil. That was a mistake on my part for allowing someone who wasn't ready to go out into the public. Promise me you both will return before night fall?"

"Yes sir. Promise. Is everything being prepared for her change?" Alpha nods and walks me back to my room.

"Everything will be ready in two weeks time. I think the question is, are you guys prepared?" He opens my door and gives Lena a soft smile. "You guys be safe out there. Call if there is any trouble."
