"Hey Jean, the battle is over." I said, trying to break the tension that lingered in the air.

"Let's take a moment to remember our fallen comrades and find strength in their sacrifice as we move forward." Jean nodded solemnly, her eyes reflecting the weight of the losses we had endured.

"I'm still worried that we may not have enough resources to continue fighting," she admitted quietly.

"But we will honor their memories by fighting on with everything we have."

After their defeat in Portland, I could see that we are the next target." I knew that we needed to be prepared for a fierce battle, but I also had faith in the skills and bravery of my soldiers.
