Aura's P.O.V

"I... I turned you?" I spoke softly, my mind grappling with the weight of this revelation.

He nodded slowly, and I waited eagerly for him to share more details. "You didn't want to," he spoke softly, his voice laced with a hint of sadness. "Turning someone into a vampire requires killing them," he explained, causing my eyes to widen in shock.

"You're saying I killed you?!" I gasped, staring at him in disbelief as the reality of his words sank in. He squeezed my hand reassuringly, knowing that I was struggling to process how I could have been responsible for his death.

"Let me explain," he said in a gentle voice, sensing my growing distress. "You didn't want to do it simply because there was no record of a halfling ever turning a human into a vampire before," he continued, his tone reassuring as he spoke. "Since halflings were virtually non-existent," he added, and I suddenly remembered Ajumma's words about the tragic fate of Halflings. It made sense that none had ever had the chance to turn a human before, since they were all hunted down and killed.

"There was always the risk that it wouldn't work, but I was already dying," he explained, and I guess I could understand why he would take such a gamble.

"H... how did I do it?" I asked softly, my curiosity piqued. I was clueless about the process of turning someone into a vampire and was eager to know more.

"Ajumma guided us through the whole process. I had to drink directly from your wrist, and afterward, Ajumma gave me a poison that would cause painless death," he explained, causing my eyes to widen in shock.

"You must have been terrified," I said softly, squeezing his hand at the idea of the fear he must have felt at the time. I couldn't fathom what it must have been like to be faced with only two options - one that was fatal and the other that could have gone wrong.

He smiled softly and reached up to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. "I think you were more scared than I was," he said, his tone playful and teasing. His sly smirk and lighthearted remark caused me to roll my eyes playfully, instantly easing the tense mood between us.

"What about the others?" I ask softly, curious if I had turned them as well, and he nods his head in affirmation.

"After it worked on me, they wanted it as well," He spoke softly, "There was no talking them out of it," He chuckled, and I couldn't help but crack a smile.

"So, as a halfling, I have the ability to turn others into regular vampires?" I asked, my confusion showing through. He took a moment to consider before answering.

"I'm not entirely sure," he replied, causing me to furrow my eyebrows in confusion.

"What do you mean?" I asked curiously, eager to understand better.

"When you first turned us, our hearts would beat like yours," he said softly. "But after you died, our hearts stopped, and it seemed like we were just normal vampires," he explained, causing my eyes to widen in shock.

"But I noticed that your heart is beating now, and I've heard Heeseung's as well," I commented, recalling Ajumma's unusual reaction to this news. Sunghoon nodded his head.

"As soon as I met you in the woods, my heart started beating again. And I'm sure that by now all the others' hearts have started to beat too," he said softly, revealing a truth that made my heart race. "It's not normal for vampires, so I'm not entirely sure what it means or how it makes us different," he continued, and I found myself staring at the ground, deep in thought, trying to come up with some possible explanations.
