Aura's P.O.V

I flop down dramatically on the couch in the living area, emitting an exasperated sigh. I shoot Sunoo a pouting glance as he settles at the opposite end of the couch, with Jake comfortably settled in the armchair.

Sunghoon, Jungwon, Heeseung, Niki, and Jay departed a few hours back to pay a visit to Ajumma. I still refused to believe that she played any role in the events from years ago, but I did hope that she might possess information about the mysterious imprisonment rune and its potential wielder.

I'm really doing my best not to dwell over it but Sunghoon still hasn't seemed to have gotten over our argument last night. After he left the library I snooped around a bit, tried to look through the book with the rune but didn't understand a damn word, and then somehow managed to find my own way back to my room where I finally delved into the suitcase of clothing Ajumma left me.

When I woke up a few hours ago, I stumbled upon Sunghoon and the others huddled in this very room, gearing up with an entire arsenal. The sight sent chills down my spine. The thought of them plunging headfirst into potential danger left me rattled and consumed by worry. Yet, Sunghoon stood firm in his decision to exclude me from their mission.

His demeanor was unsettlingly distant, avoiding my gaze and curt with his responses. The tension between us didn't go unnoticed by the rest of the group, who shot us awkward glances but wisely kept their comments to themselves. Even Jay surprisingly kept his mouth shut.

It stung to the core. Sunghoon's affection had enveloped me ever since he found me in the woods. His presence made me feel protected, cared for and invoked an intense passion that left me feeling weightless. The way he acted now, however, pulled at my heartstrings and filled me with a sense of dread. I couldn't help but regret ever suggesting that he bite me. My mind was too clouded by our intimate moment, that I'd failed to see how this suggestion was much too soon and overzealous.

Nonetheless, I couldn't understand how Sunghoon could just leave the way he did, what if something did happen to them and this is how things were left? The thought sent chills down my spine. I couldn't bare the thought of something going wrong.

I shake my head as that feeling of sadness seeps inside of me again. My mysterious existence is to chaotic to be depressed on top of everything, I really needed a distraction.

"What's wrong, Noona?" Sunoo taunted, flashing a playful smile as he glanced over from his book. Meanwhile, Jake was glued to his smart phone screen, a device I still couldn't fully grasp the idea of.

"Context clues, Sunoo. Obviously, it's Sunghoon," Jake smirked, his eyes flicking up from his phone, and I shot him a quick glare.

"Oh, right. What's the deal between you two?" Sunoo chuckled, shooting me a curious glance that made me pout at their amusement. I raised an eyebrow and leaned back slightly, feigning nonchalance.

"It's actually none of your concern," I huffed, crossing my arms defensively. I shifted in my seat, trying to maintain a sense of composure amidst their laughter, but their teasing only seemed to grow louder.

Well this is not what I came in here for.

"Oh come on Aura, maybe you just need a little friendly advice," Jake wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, earning an eye roll from me.

"I highly doubt anything either of you could offer would be remotely helpful," I retorted with a teasing edge, casting a playful glance at Jake. His smirk only widened in response.

"You're right, it's not like we lived with the guy for over a hundred years," he nonchalantly shrugged, his tone laced with familiarity. I pursed my lips in response, feeling a mix of exasperation and intrigue.
