Kiara's pov

I spotted him in the break room, a cup of coffee in his hand. As I approached, our eyes met, and I felt a jolt of electricity pass between us.

"Hey," I said, my voice soft.

"Hey," he replied, his gaze intense.

For a moment, we just stood there, saying nothing, the air thick with unspoken words.

"So..." I began, not sure what to say. "About last night..."

"Kiara," he said, his voice low and urgent. "I need to talk to you. Alone."

My heart raced at his words, and I felt a rush of anticipation. "Okay," I whispered. "Where?"

"The roof," he said, already turning to leave. "Meet me there in five minutes."

I watched him go, my heart pounding. What did he want to talk to me about? Did he feel the same way I did?

I made my way to the roof, my hands shaking slightly. As I pushed open the door, I saw Kabir standing there, his back to me, staring out at the city skyline.

"Kiara," he said, turning to face me, his eyes full of an unreadable emotion. "There's something I need to tell you."

I held my breath, waiting for him to continue.

"I know I've been acting strange lately," he began, running a hand through his hair. "And I know we've had our differences, but the truth is..." He paused, his eyes searching mine. "The truth is, I still have feelings for you. I've never stopped."

My heart stopped at his words, and for a moment, I couldn't breathe. "What?" I whispered, my voice hoarse.

"I know I shouldn't," he continued, taking a step towards me. "Especially now that you're with Dev. But I can't deny it anymore. I still love you, Kiara."

I felt a rush of emotions at his words—joy, hope, and fear all tangled together. "I don't know what to say," I whispered.

"Just tell me you feel the same," he said, his eyes pleading. "Tell me it's not too late for us."

I took a step towards him, my heart pounding. "I do feel the same," I whispered. "I never stopped loving you either."

Kabir closed the distance between us, his eyes never leaving mine. "Then why did you say yes to Dev?" he asked, his voice thick with emotion.

I bit my lip, feeling a wave of guilt. "I panicked," I admitted. "When you started dating Maya, I thought I had lost my chance with you, so I tried to move on. But it's you I want, Kabir. It's always been you."

Kabir cupped my face in his hands, his thumbs brushing my cheeks gently. "I thought I'd lost you," he said, his voice hoarse.

"You haven't," I whispered, my eyes filling with tears. "I'm right here."

And then his lips were on mine, soft and urgent, and all the confusion and pain of the past months melted away. I wrapped my arms around him, feeling whole for the first time in a long time.

We stood there on the rooftop, kissing under the stars, the city lights twinkling around us. It felt like the start of something new, a second chance for us to finally be together.

I woke up the next morning feeling unsettled. The dream I'd had about Kabir had felt so real. I could still picture his intense gaze locked on mine as he confessed his love. And that kiss...it had felt like no dream.
