The scouts had gotten a letter from Eren. After two years of not knowing his whereabouts he had sent a letter. Eren was about to retrieve The War Hammer Titan, and needed their help. They were currently in the aircraft, in enemy territory.
Jean didn't know how the mission would go. But he had to focus. The mission was what mattered.
Jean was ready.
Mikasa was going to retrieve Eren. The scouts would deal with the Marleyans. Levi and his squad would fight the titans.
The plan was simple but Jean could not stop thinking about you.
What was she doing right now? Was she safe? Was she in danger?
He didn't want to think about that. But he couldn't stop. So Jean tried to shake off his thoughts...and focus on the mission.
Jean got up from his seat on the aircraft. They were still up in the air, as it made its descent to Marley. It was only when they got outside that the real fight would start. But Jean had to prepare his platoon before that.
"Everyone listen carefully. We're about to land." He paused for a moment, clearing his throat.
"Make sure all the equipment is ready. We're gonna have to fight as soon as we're out of this aircraft. Be ready."
Everyone was ready. The time to act was here. The aircraft opened its doors and everyone got out. The air was humid. The sky was dark.
Jean stood by the edge, his eyes were alert.
"Everyone, follow your protocols." Jean ordered, his tone serious and determined. He knew what had to be done.

Jean threw his thunder spears at the Marleyan soldiers. He had to take them out quickly and efficiently. The Marleyan soldiers were ready for a fight. But they didn't expect to be attacked by the scouts. The scouts had the element of surprise as they moved quickly to take down the soldiers.
Jean didn't look back. He kept throwing thunder spears at enemies, taking them out one after the other. His movements swift and deadly.
As he flew across the sky, Jean saw a Marleyan solider and aimed at him with his grappling hook, taking him down.
He then noticed Floch, making his way towards him. "Hey! Are you trying to burn down the Internment Zone? We need to try to keep civilian casualties to a minimum. Understand me Floch?"
"Everyone here is an enemy. These are just our enemies homes. Don't forget what they did to us. The titans who've been slaughtering our people for years came from here right?"
Floch's words were cold and ruthless. They bothered Jean. He could understand where Floch was coming from, but he couldn't help but disagree with him.
"Everyone here is a human. They might be our enemy but there's a difference. We can't just kill them all. Otherwise, we are no better than the Marleyans." Jean grabbed onto Floch's shoulder and held him back. "Seriously, you have to stop thinking like that." Jean said, maintaining his firm expression.
Floch turned and pointed to Eren who was fighting the War Hammer Titan. "Look there. He's telling us something, that we have to fight. We can't just cower behind our walls waiting for death to come. We need to fight like he does, like devils."
Jean looked to the direction where Floch was pointing at. There was Eren, fighting against the War Hammer Titan. He did seem devilish indeed, willing to go further than the others to obtain their goals.
