After a while, she let him lead the way, which made him glad, being dragged around by Phoenix made him blush.

"So, why do you feel that it is absolutely important that I see these people?" She asked after a while. Wolf was really bad at making things up on the spot, it comes with the whole shyness thing, so he just kind of mumbled and disappeared until he thought of something. She sighed "Stop trying to improvise, Wolf. It won't work."

He stayed invisible until his cheeks stopped burning. How did she know that I was improvising? Well, I suppose she has known me for... for... I can't remember how many years it's been. He thought. He decided to just stay silent until she saw for herself, which seemed to be the logical way out of this. It was completely dark by the time they were near the strangers and Raven.

Wolf didn't mind the dark; it was a quiet at night, and easier to hide. Sure, he could hide whenever he wanted to, but during the day there was always a chance that light might bounce off of his field instead of going through it. "Night raids are always the best," as their old tutor so gracefully put it.

It took him a bit to realize that he no longer heard footsteps behind him. He always got distracted easily; it doesn't come in handy very often in battle, believe it or not. Damn it, distraction. Footsteps. Where's Phoenix? He thought angrily.

Wolf turned around and could barely make out her silhouette from twenty feet away. She seemed to have just stopped dead in her tracks. He smiled, they must have been closer to Raven than he had thought; only one thing could stop her like that, and that was her sister.

Wolf walked up to her and was about to say something, but stopped when he saw the clear liquid flowing from her eyes. She didn't even seem to notice that he was there. He put his arm around her shoulder in the hopes of somehow comforting her, but she immediately backed away and punched him in the arm, hard. "Ow!" He yelled for the second time that day, "What the hell was that for?" He knew that would grow into a nasty bruise fast.

Phoenix's tears were flowing freely as she said, "How dare you bring me here! Why would you do this to me!" She punched him again.

He grimaced "I thought you would be happy to see your sister!" The all strong Phoenix, the one who people had very rarely seen cry, was curled up pathetically on the dark ground, sobbing. What is wrong with her? He thought. Aren't people usually happy to see their family? I wouldn't know, I suppose. He didn't know what to do, he never had to deal with Phoenix crying, it was usually Lynx.

Wolf decided against his instincts to run, and instead sat next to her. It would be so much easier to just disappear and walk away; there's probably nothing I could do anyway. Why is she so upset? She had been crying because she lost her sister, right? Nothing made sense to him anymore. Or maybe those are tears of joy? Human emotion is confusing; it's simpler to just disappear from it all.

He tried putting his hand around her shoulder again. This time she didn't push him away; she just leaned into him and cried into his wool shirt. Eventually her sobs slowed and came to a stuttering stop. She disentangled herself from him and sniffled "I'm sorry," she said "I-I just-"

She obviously wasn't in any sort of condition to explain, so he just nodded and said "Let's just go get them." Wolf helped her up and lead the way to the road; he figured she would like to wipe away her tears without him seeing.

When they reached the "bodies", she knelt down beside them and inspected them closely. "The boy and girl with snow hair are definitely related. Their features are exactly the same, besides the whole gender thing, of course." She said.

 "And Raven?" Wolf inquired.

Phoenix sighed and said "That's definitely Raven. I suppose we should move them to a safer place, I want to know why these two were travelling with her."

Wolf nodded "I'll go get Lynx."
