(A/N: Yeah so I chose to update early. What of it?)
She came back to her senses in the same place she was last time, by a campfire next to her brother. Her head was still throbbing painfully. Pain had been a slightly foreign thing to her until now. Elris always had the grandest herbs to dispel any sort of ache of cut, bruise, wound. This was something else. This was pain.
She was about to open her mouth to call out or do something, when she felt that now familiar feeling of her senses being dulled. She rolled her eyes and found the one and only Madelina walking towards her from a... hut? Why hadn't she noticed that before? In fact, why hadn't she noticed all six of them, clustered around the campfire? This whole insanity thing was really ticking her off.
Madelina put her hands on her hips cockily. Amaria never thought it was possible to be this annoying. Madelina leaned down and smiled at her "Alright, you know what's next." She said "Name. No screaming. This time if you start screaming, I'll force your name out of you, and you definitely would not enjoy that." Amaria glared at her and felt her mouth open.
My name... what is my name? It's important, I remember that. Royal, even. Known far and wide by everyone. The greatest princess ever to ru- "Amaria." She found herself blurting it out before she even worked out completely what it was. Madelina grinned again. That's so irritating, I'll have to have guards or... or someone wipe that absolutely childish smile off of her face before it became too much of a habit.
"Well, Amaria, I want you to wake up your brother over there so that we can ask a few questions and talk like civilized people, without any banshee screaming." Amaria glared at her, she didn't like her attitude and she certainly wasn't going to do what she said without question. The princess does not take orders from rats that think they're high and mighty.
Even though she told herself she wasn't going to move a single inch, Amaria felt herself wanting to do what Madelina said. Something urged her to poke Lucius in the side, maybe even slap him for not being awake when Madelina wanted him awake.
Amaria resorted to poking him until he blinked his eyes open and groaned. "What?" He said sleepily.
Amaria knew him too well, there was no way they could keep him up for long. "Rat-face here wants answers."
Amaria said, jerking her head towards Madelina. He then seemed to realize that he was in a place he didn't know, as he sat up and looked around in alarm.
Where are we? He "said" using the twin way of communicating.
Not sure. We're surrounded by five girls. I don't know if there are more.
Lucius frowned Five girls. Isn't that something that Raven mentioned?
Raven? Amaria "said."
Raven. The trespasser, witch, savior, freak, lunatic. She's made a lot of labels for herself lately.
Oh yeah. Of course. For some reason Amaria couldn't remember anything at all. It was like what happened to Raven, in a way.
Alright we have to think, who were the people that Raven mentioned and what were their abilities?
Amaria frowned Let's see.... Phoenix, sun. Raven, moon. Madelina, minds. Lynx, floating. There was a boy with invisibility and one more that I can't remember.
He looked at her curiously and "said" Don't you find it odd how we can do this.
What?
In case you haven't noticed, we're sort of speaking to each other.
...No we're just reading each other, right?
He bit his lip I'm not sure. Have we always been able to do this?
I mean, we've always been able to read body language pretty well. But this is... this is... mind speaking.
He scoffed at her, I think Rat Face is still waiting for answers, he said and struggled at his bonds a bit.
Amaria turned her attention back to Madelina, who looked very frustrated and confused as she tapped her foot and bit her lip. "What do you want?" Amaria said, being as curt as possible.
Madelina snapped out of her trance and said "I want to know where you're from and why you were travelling with Raven."The girls had all clustered around them.
The little girl chirped a "Yeah!" before being silenced by the tall blonde girl.
"Why do you care?" Said Lucius, matching Amaria's hostile tone with ease.
"Because you may be a threat to us and our home. Answers. Now." Madelina said and tapped her foot impatiently.
Lucius and Amaria exchanged a look. Maybe they'll let us go if they know who we are, She said.
Ha. More like they'll keep us for ransom. Or maybe even eat us. How do we know that they're not the ones killing all the game?
It can't hurt to tell them. Maybe they'll respect us more, even.
Lucius sighed and said "Prince Lucius and Princess Amaria Vlivian, at your service." He bowed sarcastically from his kneeling position. Only Lucius could bow sarcastically.
The little girl's eyes got big "Royalty!" she shouted, so loudly in fact that Amaria winced when the sound waves hit her aching head. "I haven't killed royalty in soooooo looooong. Oh please can I, Phoenix? Please please please please?" She was jumping up and down as she begged.
The tall blonde glared at her and turned her attention back to the twins. "Why were you with Raven?"
Amaria saw Raven out of the corner of her eye. She was sitting in the dirt, looking very confused. Amaria took a deep breath and explained what had happened the past couple of weeks. As she talked, the amnesia seemed to wear off as she slowly started to remember everything. When she was finished, Bear looked at her thoughtfully and said "Someone's been killing all the game?"
Lucius nodded "It's been happening for a while now."
Bear looked at Phoenix and asked "Has Wolf told you anything about it?"
Phoenix shook her head and directed her attention back to the twins "You never explained why my dear sister has scars on her neck and legs."
Lucius met her gaze and explained, "She got on the wrong side of my nerves. Don't let it happen, and we won't have any more problems."
Phoenix walked up and knelt down next to him, her face was inches from his. "Do not ever tell me what to do, prince. I will do what I feel is right for my family. If you even so much as bump into them, I will have little Lynx here teach you how fun boulders can be."
Lynx grinned and skipped around the fire, "Boulders go crash, boom, crack, splat, and trust me, you don't want that." She sang and giggled maniacally.
Amaria made the decision that day that Lynx was the most dangerous out of all of them.
(A/N: Lucius is so cold omg. I'm afraid of him.)
